We enjoyed our stay (6 nights) in Siem Reap very much! The positives of Alliance Boutique Villa: great cleanliness (though no clean sheets during that time), good plumbing/shower, and EXCELLENT location! Less than 5 mins walk to the Old Market.

The negatives were regarding staff and service: supposedly the staff's working hours were between 7.00am and 10pm. However, breakfast service (very slow and boring "menu" of eggs and jam) would not commence before 7.20, so we had to adjust our touring arrangements accordingly, even when we asked, in advance, if we could have breakfast ON TIME. Staff speaks little to no English, is very slow to comprehend and reluctant to do anything, if it's near quitting time (e.g. change broken light bulb at 9.45pm upon arrival).
Most shockingly, the night watchman that comes on duty before/at 10pm, speaks NO English (or any other language), and has no idea which key belongs to which room. During our last evening we came back to the hotel at 10.10pm and found him fast asleep - drunk out of his mind (complètement soûl)!! One hour later, he stumbled drunkenly towards our room (Green Room) with his pants unbuckled, after taking a piss along the walkway. Some security guard...
The owner (French) is not present often enough to manage his staff well, and when we spoke to him, addressed us with great arrogance and dismissiveness.

We are three days into a 4 night stay and this has been a wonderful place for us. It is located in a quieter location that is about a five minute walk to the center of the bustling siem reap area. There is a nice pool and the rooms are spacious and very well-kept. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast is quite nice.

Fantastic little place with great service, breakfast and attentive staff. Right in the middle of Siem Reap, but with an oasis of calm. Rooms are clean, and cleaned daily. Highly recommended and would stay here again with out a question

A really nice and unusual hotel. Large villa style house with outdoor pool, coffee shop/breakfast area to the side and open plan restaurant in the villa alongside. Very good location just across the river bridge from the old market and away from most of the noise. All rooms are on the back of the villa, away from the street and so are very peaceful. Ground floor rooms have their own small patio areas facing a planted border while upstairs rooms have balconies that look down on the same greenery. Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. A good breakfast was provided. Helpful, pleasant staff. We would stay here again.
NB: We hired a tour guide and driver for 2 days to tour the temples and both were very nice people and highly reccommendable. Hall, the driver (+855 12492727) spoke good English, drove very carefully and knew the area really well. Samnang Yean, the guide (+855 89616729) also spoke good English, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the history and knew exactly where to take us. Both Hall and Samnang were great value for money.

I spent ten days in this lovely small boutique hotel and felt so at home. The staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very clean. Prices of rooms and the restaurant are extremely affordable and the hotel is really well situated, 2 minutes walk from the Hard Rock Café and 5 minutes from the central market.

I couldn't recommend it highly enough! Thanks to all the personnel.

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms are ideal for families or people in wheelchairs
