See this first in the morning and then do Angor wat in the afternoon when sun is on it and crowds died down. Some amazing carvings and the grounds would have been amazing in their day

Angkor Thom or Big city as the name says... is a big walled complex encompassing several temples; Bayon and Baphuon being the two most important ones. Allow at least half day to cover the key temples and sights. Very close to the city and it is better to have a car / vehicle (even tuk tuk will do) to explore different temples inside Angkor Thom as it is a big area.

The carvings here are fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the many different faces. We found so many different ones, I wonder if the original artisans made carvings of themselves as well as the Gods?

We loved this temple. Just plain spectacular and interesting. Not the most crowded, but not deserted either.

Amazing temple of faces in Angkor Thom complex . It was not crowded when we visited and enjoyed clicking a lot of pics . Don’t forget to click a “nose to nose” pic from the strategic point
