Check in and out where uneventful and smooth. Hotel overall had heightened security due to some ongoing conference in Xiamen. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Wifi was working mostly. Buffet breakfast was slightly below average expectations for a class of hotel like this.

Was there for 4 nights, excellent location within the financial district, near to park, and shirt distant to bus and rail stations.
Good hotel, comes with wonderful breakfast, and nice and spacious room. Very friendly staffs all round.

I stayed 2 nights at this Hotel, late January 2016 and mid June 2016. The front-desk staffers have a very limited command of English that is compensated by their eagerness to help. Really lovely people, hope their Management will train them (do you really need 4 people behind the reception during off-peak hours?). The Room was spacious (I think I was given Room 2207) with a late 80's style. The business traveler will find all amenities for his / her stay, except for an iron and iron table. You need to ask the reception, and the set comes in promptly, the WiFi connection was fast. The work space was not pleasant due to an old and unstable armchair. Some of the equipment need a quick replacement.
Breakfast starts at 0700, a bit late for business people. The quality of the food is below average, more like canteen standards. the Chef and the kitchens could spend a bit more time to cook proper Chinese dishes, with less oil, better presentation and tasty ingredients.
All in all it was a short but pleasant experience due to the lovely staff who are willing to go out of their ways to make your stay more enjoyable.

Stayed: June 2016

I regularly stay here for 2-3 nights maybe 4 times a year on business.

The hotel is a little dated and rooms are quite dark but in general quite clean.

The check in process can sometimes be difficult if your not Chinese but i always seem to manage.

Location is good and close to the "lake" where you can find many restaurants.
As for facilities there are very few at this hotel as it is a basic business hotel, the breakfast included has also gone down hill in the last few years but is still better than some Chinese hotels.

Couple of Tips:
1) There is a Gym around the corner if you want to work out which is 100 RMB per time
2) Do not get a room near the elevator as you can hear it coming up and down all night if your not sleeping
3) Nice italian restaurant down the road opposite Marco Polo Hotel.

all you could have asked for and expected in a business hotel. Internet, wifi etc, breakfast is fine, convenient place, nice food in the street, 3 mins walk to the bar street and the lake for scenary. Frankly, if not for marcopolo loyalty prog, i'd prefer it to marco polo hotel in the corner of the same street.

Room Tip: any one is fine
