I believe this is a former Holiday Inn brand hotel that has many familiar features of Holiday Inn hotels. The rooms are small and Euro-styled. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and my sleep here was one of the best I've had during this trip to China. I've had only a few interactions with hotel staff, but they have all been friendly and some have spoken English well, beginning with the bellman who surprised me with a perfect greeting in English. The property appears to be older, but it has been maintained well. The reception staff gave me a high floor room (24F) with a nice view of a small bay where there is mostly commercial shipping traffic and a small seaport. There is a relatively large flat panel TV in the room, but as expected, I could not find any English channels. We had dinner with guests in a private room, and I thought the food was really good. The service was terrific. For some reason, the hotel bar was closed for business during my stay, but I hadn't planned on going anyway.
If you have travels to Huizhou, I think this will be the best choice in the area for a western-style hotel. The cost is a great value for a good quality sleep.More
