I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Medellin over a year ago when they first opened. The hotel was still under construction and my husband and I were due to stay in Medellin for a short stay. The lobby is located a couple flights up, it has your typical Hampton set up. When checking in, I was told that the hotel does not have a pool on site which was news to us. According to their website, the facility had all the amenities including gym and pool. We were looking to stay at a hotel that had a pool and so we asked to have our reservation canceled. The staff was extremely apologetic for the confusion and extremely accommodating, the manager quickly came out and also apologized. He suggested just trying out the hotel and actually gave us a complimentary stay. I am glad we did, the rooms were new and everything was clean. There are great restaurants nearby and not too far from Lleras Park. The hotel provides free breakfast which was great. Thanks Hampton Medellin for a great stay, I will be back soon!

I’m a Hilton man—currently a Diamond HHonors member—and even though this is a standard Hampton, a few minor things bothered me. First of all, the hotel makes you pay for your entire stay at check-in instead of holding credit on your card. Secondly, the room itself was small, though ‘good enough’. The real thing that annoyed me was that there’s no towel rack at the sink and almost no counter space. So you basically have to hang the towel over the rim of the sink. There are also no facial tissues. I’ll admit that these are minor issues, but they bothered me my entire four night stay. There are plenty of good things such as the location in the El Poblado neighborhood and the 14th floor “sky” lobby. The breakfast was quite good. However, it was missing a good cup of coffee. This is Colombia, so the hotel should be ashamed that they can’t offer a decent cup but rather only the typical hotel percolator coffee out of an urn or something out of a push button machine! So, all together a good hotel just not a great one.

The hotel is relatively new and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Veronica made the check-in smooth and was friendly.
The breakfast is very good but not great. But it is included.
Super location easy walk to malls and good restaurants. And safe location.

We stayed here three nights on vacation. The hotel is fairly new and feels fresh and clean. Lobby and breakfast area, including a terrace, are on the 13th floor. This means that you get spectacular views of the city with breakfast. Breakfast options are nicer than Hampton breakfasts in the United States, and are served on real plates with real silverware (as opposed to paper and plastic in the U.S.). The location is very safe. We walked between the hotel and the Poblado Metro station (about 1.5 miles), and never worried. Guest floors require a key card on the elevator, adding a level of security. There are upscale malls and shops on three sides of the hotel, plus Starbucks, Hard Rock, and McDonald's across the street.

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Very well located with Milla de Oro, Sta Fe and Oviedo shopping near by. Hard Rock complementary drink was a plus. A lot of good restaurants in the neighborhood. I will come back.
