The food we had here was delicious - the sea bream was superb although I would have been happier if it had been bone free particularly as the waiter made such a show of preparing it at the table. The scallops were outstanding! The waiter was a bit disapproving when we opted not to take wine; I would say that there was a bit of a "hard sell" attitude here. The setting was lovely.

We had, of all things, a group dinner here two nights ago. I am not a fan of group dinners, but this one was superb. The appetizers were luscious, the main (sea bass) was delectable, and the dessert was light and fine. Wine was a very good selection. And the wait staff worked as a team, were very efficient, and smiled the whole time! A great dinner!

This restaurant and a hotel has most beautiful location, Terrace is intimate and peaceful. Wine was very good and the service was OK ( I think the waiter was new here).
This restaurant charges "couvert" which is quite normal and it's not expensive.Approx. 3 euros a person.that is what you pay in every pizzeria in Italy and you get a piece of paper under your plate.
Here you get an appetizer, a type of salmon " bruschetta" which was quite good.
My cold starter then arrived, marinated fish rolls , very good and cheap.
The pasta with "capesante" was not on the level of our expectations but was fine.
On the other hand my partner was not so lucky as I was... fish soup didn't have any taste at all, then the main dish ...duck meat , a bit hard, difficult to chew.
The desserts Royal cake and "Skuta" cheese with fig marmalade could be better.

Generally the food should and could be better in a 5* hotel restaurant. This was more less OK. The prices are cheap on something and a bit pricey on other. But at the end quite reasonable. For this beautiful place the restaurant should be impeccable in every point of view. And the quality should match the prices.

Dinner was severed just perfectly, staff very attentive, not to forget the veal was just perfect. A little difficult to locate due to its location in the rear of hotel and on the lower street level.

Found this cosy place in the busy Opatija and was one of the best things during our holiday! It is a fish restaurant which we did not realise at first but were very happy about it. The service was remarkably nice and professional. We got no menu but a huge plate with the fresh catch of the day so we could choose directly from the various fish and other see food. The waiter told us about the ones we did not know, also suggested how it shall be made. A little appetiser - some seebass bits with fresh bread and vegetables- was brought while we were waiting, which took some time but was not disturbing at all. After a delicious mussel soup we had our main course. The fish was boned at our table and served just the right way and certainly tasted lovely.
We will always want to go back when we are in Opatija and be part of this relaxing gastronomic experience again.

Thank Évi H
