This hotel was right across the street from the beach which made it very convenient. The rooms were large and beds comfortable. There is a pool. WiFi worked good. The small attached restaurant was only open for breakfast, but even then it wasn't open every day. No place for coffee or anything else for that mater. There was no hot water for a shower. All in all it was an ok place mostly because of the convenient location.

Got to Salinas and checked Out some hostals that are mentioned in a guide we usually buy. Went to this hostal, but to Francisco II. They told us it was full and so was Francisco I but that they had rooms available at Francisco III, they gave us a price but it didn't include breakfast so we said we didn't want it. As we were leaving, the owner, a nice elderly man comes running out saying we could have the rooms for the same price with breakfast, so we accepted. He took us to the hotel and told one of the employees the arrangement. The next Morning after breakfast as we were leaving some other employees were at the reception desliga and wanted us to pay for breakfast, including the elderly mans wife who was at the reception at the time, and aparently didn't know anything about the arrangement with her husband. After much argueing and discussions they realized that they were in the wrong and not us. It was a very embarrasing and unpleasant situation for us. As for the rest, the rooms weren't sparkling clean, and in general very noisy

We got a nice room with a view over the ocean. The standard was not great. We stayed for one night and that was enough! However, the prices were cheap. Free wifi and practical location, I would recommend this place for a short visit to Salinas.

Room wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. Room wasn't tidy looking. Got switched to another, but it had a broken phone jack, so wouldn't be able to make any calls. Got switched to a third room. What a hassle. Had to keep moving our stuff.

Rooms are rather bare -- not many places to put your belongings.

Rooms could be much cleaner and more comfortable. Have the rooms ready for check-in when you say you are going to. Replace the bright white ceiling-mounted CFL bulb in the rooms with something more soothing. Add a lamp to the night table so that guests have a dimmer option that can be turned off without leaving the bed. Add a chair to each room. Clean the floors in the common areas and stairwells thoroughly each day. Ensure that all rooms have working TVs/remote controls and phones. Replace the worn furniture in the lobby. Give more attention to keeping the pool area clean/free of litter. Don't leave cleaning supplies sitting in the common areas for hours on end. These are a few of the things this hotel could do to improve the experience for guests. For $70+ per night per room (double bed), the staff should have higher standards and be more concerned with providing a pleasant experience. This is not a hostal for $20 per night.

Only positives - location right on the Malecon (main drag) across from the beach, so it's conveniently located to restaurants, etc. And there is a pool on the ground floor, which also includes showers so you can clean off sand after going to the beach.

Room Tip: For a quieter experience, choose a room on an upper level not facing Malecon because this main street tends to be quite loud with people blaring music.
