Happy to find this open after registering for the night at the Rodeway Inn across the street. They have a Hot Dog centric menu but I found a very good Turkey-Bacon-Swiss Croissant available. Their lemonade was very good and though they have a wide variety of frozen custard treats I did not try any of those.

Thank Steven P

This custard is serious. Recommended for a fun roadside treat. One of the few non chains in town. Seriously though; green chili custard?

Drive up or drive through, local to Las Cruces and Alamogordo, NM, Caliche's has a unique variety of sundae toppings well worth trying, and really good hot dogs... I recommend the Gizmo with salted pecans, and the Pucker Dog with extra saurkraut !!!

Oh ... maybe because Alamogordo doesn’t have a DQ!!! That was a wonderful accident. We discovered Caliche’s.

Love frozen custard. And, these walk ups, like Andy’s, Sheridan’s, etc. are the best.

My wife had the key lime sundae. I had a hot fudge sundae. Both were tasty to the last drop.

Unusual, but you could have a New Mexico chile custard, along with a Nathan’s hot dog or a Fritos Chili Pie. Yum, but my stomach rebelled at the thought.

After spending a long morning"sledding" the sand dunes, the nachos and ice cream treats at Caliche really hit the spot!
