This a beautifully designed modern hotel, some eight years old, situated in lovely manicured gardens. There are three restaurants of a high standard and a poolside bar, the pool being a particularly attractive infinity pool with views over the adjoining fields. The rooms are large and very comfortable and we had the advantage of a ground floor family room with a large balcony and steps down to a common garden area.

The beach at Majorda was accessible by a frequently run hotel run shuttle bus which operates from a cabin near the rear gate at which towels are provided. An hotel man at the beach will summon the shuttle for your return but there are no other hotel facilities. You can walk if you want but for us 10 minutes in 35 degrees after a day out was a bit too much. If you want a sun lounger on the beach you need to buy a drink and a snack at one of the beach bars (very cheap) but rather than accept the pleadings of the guys waiting for you as you alight from the bus I recommend you turn right and walk a few hundred yards up the beach to Mish Mar which is the top rated shack in area. The beach is huge and extremely clean and the water shallow though the surf can be a bit heavy. As you alight from the shuttle there is a little shop run by the charming lady where you can buy the usual beach offerings at a better price than the beach hawkers who will pester you.

As stated the hotel is lovely and I particularly liked the buffet breakfast where you could find something for everyone’s taste. However we were there the second week in March which is approaching end of season so unfortunately the restaurants were rather quiet in the evenings and therefore somewhat lacking atmosphere. Off course that may not be indicative of what goes on high season. Part of the reason also may be that there a couple of local restaurants parked directly outside the front gates which were always busy as they offered rather unfair competition to the 5 star offering in the Alila Diwa, just depends what you want. The well known Martins restaurant is a further 10 minutes walk down the road.

Very large staff, always friendly and smiling and very helpful. There is a spa offering massage and other treatments but not shown on the website and seemingly important to western women, they have a hairdressers too.

Overall a lovely hotel with high level of facilities and service where one can spend a relaxing time by the pool or going to the beach.

Room Tip: Try and book a ground floor room, may be premium rate

We had our family holiday at the Alila Diwa Club with Diwa By Design package in September 2017.

Extremely impressed with the service from the Bistro staff - Anil, Jaffar, Leston, Ashkay. Kimberly and Sumit were excellent managers and made the stay memorable. The chef - Mithun was excellent and breakfasts and lunches as catered for all our dietary needs.

Diwa Club staff were also very helpful and a special mention to Suman for helping my wife with her shopping.

Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The gardens and surrounding paddy fields were beautiful as was the beach.

Spa services were superb with friendly and professional therapists. We enjoyed every single treatment we had!

When we were not in the spa, we spent much of our time at the main pool and the service was superb.

While we were staying at Alila Diwa, we had an opportunity to experience their Dine in the Dark, which was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend trying it!

Can’t wait to go back!

Thank you Alila Diwa team for an awesome experience. I stayed for two nights and three days for my anniversary. My spouse was extremely happy with the selection of this venue and we really had an awesome experience. Courteous staff, clean surroundings, finger licking food... What else one would want. Cheers to the team.

Room Tip: Beautiful rooms and well cleaned.

The hotel is awesome with great pool, rooms and restaurants.
They actually have a mini bus that takes you to the beach near by that is lovely. The staff is ok, but not great for what you pay.
But this is one of the worst hotel in Goa (from the ones I stayed) about the transportation.
I believe I can call mob cab / taxi. Its impossible to grab a taxi in the front of the hotel that does not charge you a lot. All of them will charge you above the normal price. And if you try pick up a different one - that does not stay all day stopped in the front of hotel, they will not pick up if you say Alila Diwa, because they are afraid of the cab drivers that usually stay there.
Honestly I think the hotel - safeguarding tourists - should call the taxis themselves and apply a fair rate.

Beautiful and quiet location, great property with lovely rooms, a couple of good restaurants just around the corner, staff/hotel are courteous and accommodating (they checked us in at 7 20 in the morning before we could even ask for an early check-in)
