“Such a shame”

I really find it hard to review this place as it has so many really amazing highlights, from the wonderful Havali itself the rooftop restaurant with amazing views, its location, value for money, cleanliness. However the Manager really needs to get his act together, when he is nice he is very charming and wonderful, he needs to realise that when someone has a very small problem, he should deal with it straight away rather than losing his cool. The place is truely amazing otherwise.

It’s tough to objectively review this one. On one hand: location was great, in the narrow alleys of Jodhpur’s Old Town. The highlight of this guesthouse was definitely the rooftop restaurant with a fabulous view on the Fort, decent food and a truly ‘backpackers’ ambience’. The rooms were also clean and pleasant. Overally, this place definitely has a character. On the other hand however the behaviour of the owner was quite shocking to us. This guy got really drunk all the evenings, was aggressive towards his staff, arrogant towards guests and not trustworthy - e.g. he offered to arrange (commission included of course) a van to udaipur for us - the next morning nobody appeared on the agreed hour and we had to intervene couple of times before the driver eventually came 1,5 hrs later).
To sum up – for me the rooftop experience wins, but do not expect good service and attention.

I went back after one year in this lovely guesthouse in Jodphur ,I had a very positive experience the first time. the reasons why I went back are different, it well located in the heart of the old town, as a wonderful terrace where you can eat with the view of the fort, its a lovely haveli nice decorated but the most important reason is because the tread me like part of their family. This is what happen also this time I was feeling home and this is the reason why I reccomend it, its easy to find a good room but this is not the reason why we are travelling, I think we are looking for human relations and this is what I found in Yogi guesthouse.
Papa, Yogi I will back soon............................

I have stayed here twice now, once over a weekend and the second time for over 10 days. This place is fun, relatively quiet for its surroundings, its clean and the staff are very friendly. I stayed in a large room with its own bathroom (which was clean and spacious) with air conditioning too. Sheets/towels are changed on request quite easily, Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the building.

Add to that little campfires on the rooftop with a magnificent view of the fort.

Hanging out on the rooftop with other travellers was almost as much fun as going out in Jodhpur. Plus Yogi helps you out with travel bookings, local reservations, suggestions... Its almost strange how homely this place makes you feel. A double thumbs up from me and I hope to visit again!

Room Tip: Well it depends on your budget but I liked the rooms that face the courtyard because its farther awa...

Our time in Yogi's guest house started out well, it's pretty and all that, but he soon showed his true colours. While we were there we over-heard several rude comments by the owner to other guests, and it only got worse. Guests were accused of being 'liars' and 'dishonest' after simple disputes over payments. His manner turned ugly more than once, to us and those around us. He was plain obnoxious... yelling and screaming over petty things. Whats more, when the water didn't work in several rooms he lost his temper at guests instead of fixing the problem. He overcharges, under pays his staff, and is generally a bully. His parting comment to us (after a minor misunderstanding due to a language barrier) was that he 'HATES foreigners'. Don't give him your time or your rupees.
