People of Jodhpur are coming here for everyday shopping. Tourist are coming to see the real Indian market, to make a photo of Clock Tower and to order the saffron lassi. We did the first two, but the shop with lassi was closed. There are, however, some other bars in the neighbourhood with the same drink.
The market - it is real and you can walk there to see the people or look for something interesting (textiles?)
The Clock Tower - yes, make this photo.
The saffron lassi - interesting, but necessarily something I will miss for the rest of my life.

If you are in Jodhpur and are looking for shopping local goods, then this is the place. There are many merchants selling almost anything and everything. Prices are much more reasonable here as compared to Jaipur, though still bargaining is needed. As this market is located in the old part of the Jodhpur city, so it the streets here are very narrow and even a small movement of vehicles causes traffic jams. there are many restaurant and cafes around here with some great views of the city and Mehrangarh fort. Do not miss coming here if you are traveling Jodhpur. There are few tourist attraction (in old city like Toorji ka Jhalra etc) just nearby this market as well.

It really is a colourful place with lovely smells. Total chaos but seems to work. It seemed to us that you could buy anything at this Market. It covers a large area with the Clock Tower at the centre. Well worth a visit.

The markets are always teeming with people and this one was no exception. What was missing, were the cows, which are kept away ! Something new for me in India. Great atmosphere. People watching superb. Just walk and embrace the experience. You won't get lost.

My Aunt and I loved this market. It’s a local market so prices are really good. You can still haggle but as the prices are so low we were happy to pay. Sari cloth sellers at 50/100 rupees for pieces cut to shawl length. Bangle sellers, food vendors, basket weavers...everything is here and it’s fabtastic fun. It’s hectic and noisy and you need to be constantly aware of rickshaws and motorbikes but just jump in and enjoy the full on Indian experience. See my other review of the clock tower in Jodhpur as it’s the same area and gives more info of this fascinating area of the city.
