It is the perfect stop before you enter the Fort. There are beautiful views, the architecture is great and it's the place for listening the story of the rulers and city of Jodhpur.

Jaswant Thada is located next to the Mehrangarh fort. There i enough space to park your vehicle outside it. Once you are done with your visit to the fort then you should stop by here to visit it. It was built by the King of Jodhpur in memory of his father Jaswant Singh, which was used to cremate the royal family members. Architecture of this building is beautiful, there are no many tourist coming here as compared to fort, so it is very peaceful here. Also you'll get some of the best and postcard picture perfect views of Mehrangarh fort from here.

It is really beautiful and a great backdrop for some good pictures if that is what you are after. It was very similar to one we saw in Jaipur, and I think our guide made it very interesting. The interior was not impressive for us, but the exterior is just wonderful. Same marble as the marble in Taj Mahal.

This is a beautiful group of buildings located next to a small lake. It is almost a mini version of the Taj Mahal and is a mermorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and is located not too far from the main fort. The workmanship of the carved marble lattice type screens is exception and the main building is in very good order. Photography is allowed but a nominal fee applies. A very pleasant and peaceful place to wander round.

It’s got a beautiful architecture... some of the marbles used are so transparent that sunlight passes through them but they don’t heat up.
