This is the best accommodation we experienced in Bali. you can walk to a great spa (cantika) and organic restaurant (sari organic) with wonderful views of rice paddies. it is a little bit off the beaten path from the hustle and bustle which we found to be a bonus. Bed is comfortable and room is really clean. spending a little extra to stay here was worth it. at other places in ubud the walls are paper thin but you can't hear your neighbors at Sawah only the chickens (and they aren't too loud). the only downside was no wifi.

We stayed 5 nights in this B&B. The location is just perfect. Ubud is indeed a bit too crowded in summer, but this B&B is just a jewel hidden in the ricefields, on the north of ubud, but just 2 minutes away from the road and 10 minutes from the center of ubud by walk. In you keep north on the nice path, you will reach the sari organik restaurant, which is very peaceful and even norther you will see the real bali.
Rooms (upstairs for the view) are nice, clean, confortable. hot water works and breakfast is good. staff is very friendly, although they not very helpful when you try to plan something different than what their driver friend can offer. But this is not a problem as you can organize anything on your own in ubud.
And all this for quite cheap prices. One of the best deal we had in Bali.

The only drawback is mentionned in the other reviews: you won't sleep very well. The geckos make a lot of noise but this becomes pretty quickly a nursery rhymes. The problem stands more with the roosters and the dogs at 5am. So bring ear plugs and enjoy the sunset on the ricefield if the roosters wake you up.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs are better as you get a nice view from the

Sawah Sunrise B & B is situated in a great position in the rice fields. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful; and it's a pleasant walk into town or to the markets.
IF you can exist without much sleep, you'll love it here, but noise is a huge factor. One expects roosters, but dogs howling and barking (and/or fighting) kept me awake most of the night. Another thing - I could hear the people in the room beside us, talking and using the bathroom through the night.
I loved the area and the guesthouse, with it's wonderful views across the rice fields.
Breakfast was good and the neighbors working in the rice fields greeted you with a smile.
... was just a shame about the dogs howling and barking (and fighting) in close vicinity.

Sawah Sunrise really is an oasis away from the hustle of Ubud town. My friend and I stayed in room 4 - a downstairs twin room. The room was immaculate when we got there and remained that way with every cleaning. The beds were big and comfortable and the silence recieved by being up in the rice fields allowed for long restful nights sleep. The area is stunning to be in as you eat the great breakfast provided (A choice of 3 breakfasts - all excellent). Suma and the other staff were incredibly helpful, giving us maps of the area and we even arrange with Suma to have a tour of North Bali (at extra charge of course - but it was cheaper than with any official tour). The location is just 5min walk into town and the various attractions, yet it remains dead quiet throughout the day. If you are in Ubud and are looking for a restful place in beautiful surroundings, look no futher. At about $50 a night, I thought it was a steal for the quality and the service that you get when you stay here.

The Sawah sunrise is set amongst fields of rice paddies tucked just behind the centre of Ubud. It is an easy walk from the main streets, but without any of the drawbacks of staying in a busy location. It only has four rooms, so it doesn't feel busy or crowded.

The pros: Incredible location with postcard perfect views across the rice paddies and a nice garden to sit in. Lots of beautiful walks starting right at your door. Terrific staff who are friendly, helpful and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is provided at your door with unlimited tea and coffee. Lovely cool, open, spacious room and good bathroom with lovely shower. Overall a great option and fantastic value and really felt like a home away from home.

The cons: Other reviewers noted the noise from the roosters next door, so we came prepared with earplugs. They worked somewhat, but we were still woken up and kept awake every morning between 2 am and 4 am. And if not the roosters, then the neighborhood of barking dogs would start up.

At the end of the day, it depends how important getting uninterrupted sleep is to your trip. I loved the Sawah Sunrise but I would consider a different option if you value uninterrupted sleep.
