We had been to 3 other hotels/B&B's in Bali and I will remember this one the most! The B&B was designed tastefully and the bath is exquisite. The breakfasts were substantial, with fresh juice or fruit, fresh bread and your choice of a meal. Looking out on the rice fields was very nice, too. Mostly I will remember the management, Mary and Wayan. They are such gracious hosts and recommended places to see, restaurants, and spas! They seemed to anticipate our needs. They have some very interesting stories of their courtship. You will definitely need ear plugs-the roosters start crowing at the break of dawn. We just started going to bed earlier!

We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Sawah in January. Mary arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport and take us to the B&B. The room on the 2nd floor was lovely, (there are only 4 rms here) very spacious and clean. No AC but thre was a great breeze at night so we left our windows open . No Mozzie bites,.and breakfast was great. Mary's husband Wayan prepares breakfast which can be enjoyed on your small balcony or in the garden area. The Banana Pancakes are awesome ,as well as the assorted fruit and Bali Kopi.
They are wonderful hosts .
It is a short walk to Sari Organic Restaurant and the Cantika Spa across the field from Sawah had great massages. It was an easy walk to the central area of Ubud where the Royal Palace is located , the large market, MONKEY fOREST RD.,& Hanoman Street (all major shopping areas. )The other direction from Sawah brings you to a quieter area of Ubud where local artists have shops . Plenty of restaurants to choose from without needing a taxi. Internet access close by.
The grounds are lovely and it is a unique location to stay.

The way to get to this B and B is by walking on the beautiful Rice Trail Walk in Ubud. Once you are there, just breathe in the Bali experience. Your hosts, Mary and Wayan, greet you with enthusiasm and you just know that this is the right place to be. The rooms are nicely furnished and overlook the rice fields and a view out to the mountains. The breakfast is ample and well prepared....real squeezed juice, great Balinese meals as Wayan enjoys the experience of preparing the breakfast for you. And then on some afternoons, you can just sit outside and hear the Jegog gamelan from the temple nearby and watch the ducks as they groom the muck in the paddies. Who can ask for more. Yes, you might hear the roosters crow in the morning and the frogs in the evening...just enjoy the nature and recognize how removed you can be in city living. If you want that special experience at a very reasonable cost then Sawah Sunrise should be your choice.

This is my first time in Ubud and was admiring the quietness of Ubud. But during first few days, the busyness and noise on Ubud main street scared me. However, the last few days I stayed in Sawah Sunrise, which is right decision. It is located in the middle of large rice field, and far away from the down town. Although I have to drag my suitcase for 5-10 min, it is still worthy. My room is on 2nd floor, and it is so airy, bright and full of nature sounds, like rooster (day time), frog (at night) and ducks (day time). Rooster might be a problem at the beginning, but earplug could solve your problem. Every morning I wake up and talk a walk on rice field path, and see farmers working so. Everthing is so nature and peaceful.. Not to mention, the breakfast is so great. And one night I had my dinner in Sari Organic and on the way back to my room, I saw lots of fire bugs in the ricefield in the dark, which was breathtaking..
I would like to come back here for sure.
