We traveled to Ubud for the day and asked our driver for a lunch recommendation. He obviously got a great commission and a free meal for taking unsuspecting tourists here! We should have turned around and walked away immediately!

1st clue - parking lot full of tour guide vans and parking attendants directing traffic.
2nd clue - restaurant full of rich looking camera toting tourists with tour guides carrying color flags to keep their groups together.

I ordered Nasi Campur and it was served ice box cold - like they took a prepared plate out of the fridge and sent it out. I sent it back and the waitress tried to explain that it was served that way. I ate a lot of Nasi Campur while in Bali and I can tell you it's meant to be served hot. The waitress was rude and refused to budge on whether or not it was meant to be cold and finally asked if I'd like something else. I ordered the Chicken Satey thinking they'd at least be warm, and they were, marginally. My partner ordered Nasi Goring and he said it was ok but nothing to write home about. There was an additional charge for rice with my Chicken Satey. Had I known I would have declined it as I took two bites and stopped eating it. It was barely warm as well.

Items were not cleared from our table or others. A strong breeze knocked an empty beer bottle off a neighboring table shattering it at our feet. We swept it up as best we could and eventually our waitress came by and made a half-hearted attempt to gather the glass shards.

When my partner paid our bill our rude waitress asked him if he would need his change back. Seriously?

The restaurant and grounds are beautiful however that does not make up for inedible food, rip off pricing, and stomach issues. Within a few minutes of leaving the restaurant I started having tummy troubles (the only troubles I had in a week of eating in Bali). I contacted the restaurant regarding this however never heard back from them.

Do yourself a favor and stay away!!!

Drivers obviously get good commission for bringing their poor unsuspecting guests here because the car park is full of tour guides vans. Food very average and way over priced. Wait staff overloaded and so expect a long delay. Free wifi - but not connected to the Internet!!!
Very disappointed with our driver for taking us here.

What I love the most here is the beautiful view by paddy field, though it sunny but the cool breeze has its soothing elements that can calm your soul. We ordered Gado Gado and it taste fantastic as the peanut sauce is so rich and creamy, as for the mango juice it is so fresh as though we ate the watery version of mango. The white Bali rice has the same chewing texture as Thai Fragrance rice minus the fragrance, its a little bit round and short but the taste is delicious and filling to the stomach. As for crispy duck is good but the meat at the duck back bone part has strong unappealing taste for my tongue, the only minus point from me. Service is average. I will definitely come again if I have the chance for the awesome view, great drink and anything but duck.

There are so many very good value-for-money restaurants around Ubud, and this is definitely NOT one of them. Prices are expensive and not worth it.

I gave a list of trip advisor recommended restaurants to a good friend, and we ate here at her suggestion. I thought this was on the list I gave her, so I did not bother with checking out the reviews. The food was oily, not palatable, and a waste of money. What we spend on our dinner here was equivalent to 3 dinners at better restaurants.

Eat elsewhere, and check out TA reviews!!!

The restaurant overlooking the padi field has a nice setting. The food and service is average. I think the place is recommended by the tourist guide and so you see many tourists dine here. However, there are a few locals dine here too. The grilled fish is better than the duck.
