This is a VERY basic room hotel. The owner locks the doors at 10pm... we aren't night people so we don't care but don't recall seeing anything about that when booking, nor were we told when we checked in. The towels are very small, and you are provided with a tiny bar of soap. Wifi is terrible. The only good thing about this place was the location. Glad we only stayed one night for the price we payed. Would not recommend this place.

Typed in the cheapest accommodation in Galle Fort as we were only there for one night and wasn't expecting much for roughly £14 but it was lovely. Nice spacious room, large comfy bed and nice bathroom. It was just what we needed. You accessed it via the gems shop and then have to pop through the family living room but they are obviously so used to it and you never once felt like you were intruding, everyone just smiled and said hello. I would recommend it for anyone needing somewhere to rest your head for a night or two.

We stayed one night in this very central location
A clean but very basic room with warm water shower room.
We had the top floor room with views over the roof tops.
The owner was very helpful and helped us find a taxi for our onward journey.
We went out for breakfast as it was easy to find places to eat in the fort.
Reasonable price and great location

Our first disappointment was the bed sheet that barely covered the mattress let alone went over the sides and tucked in so that we basically ended up sleeping on the mattress with no cover.

The power was turned off whenever we went out so when we thought we were leaving our battery's to charge whilst we went for dinner, we come back and they are empty. The wifi would also be turned off at random times and at night. And when it was working it wasn't great.

This was also a room in a families house and unlike any other places we stayed you have to walk through the families home to get into the room which we felt was quite awkward as sometimes the family didnt acknowledge us we felt like we were in their personal space.

Good Location in Galle Centre and owned by one of the only people who make their own jewellery, voted best place to buy gems in Galle by Conde Nast Traveller.

You can see a great view of the area & sunset from roof top.

Excellent location. Family home. Entrance through a gems shop. A short walk to the fort walls and ocean.
I stayed in the upper most room, definitely worth asking for. There is only one room at the very top of the building. I can't remember room number now. Had windows and a great view from just outside the room. Room basic, bathroom clean, aircon worked well. I wasn't out late at night so didn't run into any curfew issues as other reviewers have reported. Worth clarifying curfew / access restrictions in advance if you're likely to be out late, and there are some nice places to eat & drink nearby.
