Amazing hotel bug spray required since to get around you are technically outside but cover if it was raining out. I loved everything about this hotel except getting around is hard. They have 4 building and no maps and poor signage to direct you around. Pool area is nice and the breakfast buffet has almost too many choices as does their dinner buffet. If you love food you’ll love the ridiculous amount of choices available. I think it’s almost too much. Restaurants on the grounds is A+ so eat at the all. Grounds of hotel is beautiful and I saw runners taking advantage of the beautiful paths throughout the grounds.

Staff is amazing, speaking great English and very accommodating. Rooms are very big and toiletries are great let’s just say the only thing you need to bring is deodorant, facial moisturizer and makeup because the supply everything else.

Greetings from Chiang Rai Jacqueline E,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, we are delighted that you found our buffet offerings to be outstanding in quality and variety and that the resort comforts and facilities met your expectations.

We have well noted your comments regarding directional signage while walking around the resort and although the buildings and facilities are uniquely contained over the 10 acre property we do take your comments constructively and will review in our next public area improvement plans.

Many thanks once again for sharing your feedback with us, your sentiments will be passed on to our Le Meridien team and we look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back again soon.

Best Regards,

Very nice resort with many big trees. Morning and lunch food are a little tasteless. Shower room floor is not good slope so water is not drained fast. Staffs are good and helpful. No bidet spray (สายฉีดก้น).

My tour group stayed there for two nights and we enjoyed staying there. The property was very large and well maintained. My room was spacious, modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and and helpful. The breakfast and dinner buffets had many wonderful selections that were artistically arranged. I appreciated the free shuttle van service to and from the night market and shopping mall. I highly recommend this hotel.

Located about 10 minutes by van from the town of Chaing Rai, the Meridien is an amazing oasis. Wonderful, friendly staff, all fluent in English. Large well appointed rooms. Excellent, strong wi-fi. And the huge grounds of the hotel - stunning. Pool and Italian restaurant on the river. Man-made lake adjacent. Only disappointment was that there are only two restaurants. We would have liked more choices. A relaxing 4 nights that would be difficult to replicate elsewhere without paying much more. Well worth the short flight from Bangkok.

We stayed here for 5 days in the end of November and beginning of December. First the hotel. The beauty of the grounds cannot be overstated. They are incredible. The room was spacious with an outdoor seating area and breakfast was large with great variety. The front desk was always helpful. The tours they offer were great and if you don't want an organized tour they will give you suggestions of things to do and the option to rent a car and driver by the hour.

What put this hotel over the top for me was how the staff reacted when I stupidly stumbled off a stair and injured my foot. At first I thought it was nothing and went on a half day tour. By the time I got back to the hotel, I could barely walk. The front desk sent a nurse immediately who looked at it and confirmed that it was a soft tissue injury. Ointments were supplied, foot bandaged, and ice packs given to me. I even borrowed some crutches - which came in very handy that day and night.

The next morning at breakfast, I was able to walk in with a limp but no crutches. The staff knew I was injured, asked how my foot feels and sat us close to the buffet to limit my walking. It's now 4 days later and I feel great. All thanks to the care I got at this hotel.

Stay here. You won't regret it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The resort occupies an idyllic 26-rai site directly on the banks of the Mae Kok River, moments from Chiang Rai town and a one hour drive from the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge. The resort is set at the heart of beautiful landscaped gardens complete with a tranquil man-made lake and two majestic 100-year-old rain trees. Surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery, the neighbouring community is a jewel waiting to be explored. Nearby attractions include Rai Mae Fah Luang, Le Méridien's chosen UnLock Art site, and Oub Kham Museum which houses a collection of objects from the ancient Lanna kingdom, Myanmar, southwest China, and Vietnam. Nearby attractions include Wat Phra Kaew, the temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha, and the Hill Tribe Education Centre with its fascinating display of tribal artefacts and handicrafts. Boat trips along the Mae Kong River are available from the town of Chiang Khong, with stops along the way at villages of interest. Ethnic groups living in the province include Karen, Lisu, Lahu, Akha, Meo, and Yao, and it is possible to arrange treks into the hill tribe villages with experienced local guides. Mae Sai is 62 kilometres north of Chiang Rai and makes for an interesting day trip. This busy trading post borders Myanmar, and it is possible to cross the bridge to visit the bustling market in Tha Khi Lek. Phu Chi Fa is a spectacular viewpoint. The impressive views are best enjoyed early in the morning, particularly in the cool season when mist covers the valley floor. A highlight to any trip to Chiang Rai is a visit to the Doi Tung Development Project. Started as a royal initiative to help eradicate opium supply, drug use, and rural poverty, the project offers villagers with a practical and sustainable alternative. The project focuses on development, education, training, humanitarian activities, environmental conservation, agriculture, and the production of quality crafts. At the summit of Doi Tung, visitors can visit Phra That Doi Tung, a chedi constructed in 911 A.D and one of the oldest and most sacred sites in northern Thailand. The chedi is said to contain the collarbone of Buddha. Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, Thailand is located close to the town centre and a short drive from Chiang Rai Airport. ... more   less
