This restaurant provided an excellent example of Northern Thai food (nb. Thai and Western food also available). Opted for the northern style curry, spicy prawn and lemongrass salad, tom yum soup and sharing platter with various styles of meat, sausage and veg. Found these to be excellent (beware that these also give authentic levels of heat!!). Fresh passionfruit juice was also delicious.
Went with friends but the atmosphere on a Tuesday night was suitable for a sophisticated family gathering or romantic date night (bordering the mid-range to fine-dining experience). Beautiful backdrop of Singha Park on an open balcony (surrounded by trees and the tea plantation), but don't forget that mosquitoes come out at dusk! Nb. indoor seating available, so ask if you want the views.
Price-wise, expensive for the area, but worthwhile in order to sample the best of the local menu.
This is difficult to access without a vehicle as it is located in Singha Park - about 25 minutes by car out of central Chiang Rai. There is ample parking available (and golf-buggies if you can't make the short walk down to the parking lot!).
