Ordinary yet worth it!

Review of Tony Resort
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Oct 2014
I stayed in Tony Resort during my recent trip to Phuket. I would say the hotel is strategically located in Patong, whereby everywhere was just 10 minutes walk - Bangla Street, Patong Beach, the mall, Hardrock Cafe, the flea market and restaurants. There is money changer and a convenient store right outside the hotel. Its situated by the main road so its easy to get a taxi/ tut tut at any time.

Cleanliness was excellent, room service and customer service was good! Rooms are big and comfortable. Definitely worth the money!

I stayed at the Tony Resort for 2 nights and realy enjoyed it as value for money. Our room was quite large and overlooked the swimming pool. Breakfast was basic but quite adequate considering the very reasonable tariff, it was very handy to all the markets and shopping centre and was very quiet at night considering how close it was to the main street. Love the pool. Thank you Mr. Thai...from Singapore Namfon.

I've just spent 5 weeks staying at Tony Resort. I've been to Thailand 7 times previous but this was my first time in Phuket. I cant say enough about my experience staying at Tony. The staff were great, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were big and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The location was brilliant, 6-7 minutes walk to Bangla Rd and 5 mins to Jungceylon shopping centre. The hotel is set back off the street so noise was minimal. The hotel has a great pool area and most of the rooms overlook the pool. This hotel is excellent value for money. I had not pre-booked my room, just walked in off the street. The rooms were 1000 BHT per night ($33 AUD). I'll be back to Phuket next July for another month and will be staying at Tony Resort again. To the staff, Thanks for a great holiday guys. Cheers Mike Australia

Not impressed at all !! WE thought that two nights in Patong would end our holiday off nicely.. As soon as we got there the receptionist was not happy we had two rooms with 7 of us .. We booked this online and there was no mention of not being allowed all adults... they had to put another bed in one room... The beds were hard and pillows the same.. I ended up with headaches and NOT from drinking.. !! The breakfast isnt very nice either ....Our shower head broke off the wall due to the adaption being plastic... Smelled constantly of smoke ,,, even on the freshly cleaned towels... Heard people coming and going all night long .. BAsiclly it was the very first lady we spoke to that turned us off ever going there again ... And they only give you 1 key to a room... so we had to keep asking them to let us in the room to which they were not happy... Come on!! 1 key is ridiculous when you walk everywhere and come and go ... Cheap price but shouldnt be terrible service !! NO upgrades and no happy aussies !!

Room tip: Cheap is not always a good choice !!

Hi, I have just returned from another beautiful holiday in Phuket. Having travelled to Phuket every year for the past 10 years, I have stayed in all sorts of hotels from $150 a night to $20 a night. Each year I try and research different hotels and reject a lot for various reasons. This year I did not pre-book a hotel because I have paid in advance on all occassions have been disappointed for various reasons, and not been able to get my money back, and move out.Intending to stay a month this time I did not want it to happen again so I picked one and fronted up to the desk only to be told they were booked out. No problem, I walked 20yards up the road and found another, which was called Tony Resort. This had flown under my radar and boy was I surprised. Yes they had rooms available and would I like to inspect it and the hotel before booking in. There are 4 seperate but joined 4 storey buildings surrounding a beautiful pool area with plenty of lounge chairs and pool towels for all.All rooms have a front door and a back door which leads onto seperate balconies overlooking the pool area.Bed were a little hard for my taste but good for Thailand. These rooms for someone like me coming off the street were 1000bt a night which is about $30au Breakfast was adequate at $9 So good was the room and staff I spent the whole month there. Bangala road was 7min walk away and Jungceylon shopping centre 4minute walk and Smile Dentist (excellent) across the road. I will be back Geoff

Room tip: Joiner fees are usually charged for extra people brought back to the hotel, this hotel does not.

booked in for 7 nights to be told by fellow travellers there was no hot water and had not been for several days and it was always going to be fixed tomorrow oh yea. anyway made an agreement to be refunded my money if hot water not fixed the next day. of course it was not and ended up being given a suite in another section with hot water, this proved to be a beautiful and large room with a huge bathroom also. I stayed the rest of the trip in this room and had great service and facilities for the time, I could recommend this place

Room tip: new rooms with pool view are good, make sure everything is working before booking in and do not pay in advance
