My family (wife and two kids) had such a great time at Sarah's villa I should have written this review much sooner. We rented the whole villa for 7 nights originally but extended to 10. It was a great space with good kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable beds, and very clean. Other furnishings are more traditional Vietnamese so not as plush as what some may be used to but we really liked the authentic feel of the place.
The location was excellent being at the quieter end of An Bang beach, but only a few minutes walk or ride to shops and restaurants including the popular Deck House and Soul Kitchen. Close to home Hana’s Quite Beach deckchairs at the end of the lane are more private but with amazing food and drinks and friendly service.
The service my family received from Sarah, our local host (Men) and the villa staff (Tai and Ba) was exceptional - they were a pleasure to deal with. There was nothing too much for Men who looked after any request we had which was very helpful being our first time in Vietnam. Tai and Ba kept the place beautifully clean and us all well fed at breakfast. My 10 year old and I actually caught a 2-3 day bug in the north before arriving at An Bang – my daughter was quite ill for a few days. The efforts Tai, Ba, and especially Men, went to in trying to make us well deserve mentioning and we are still extremely grateful.
We all really enjoyed Hoi An, but were more than happy with our decision to stay in An Bang and take short taxi rides into town. All the An Bang locals were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. On our next trip to Vietnam I’d happily spend a few weeks in An Bang (at the villa) and take a few short trips around the area.
