I've been in Zambia for only 2 weeks and I must say that Indian food is not what I would have expected - but I will also say that both restaurants (one in the north in Chingola and this restaurant in Livingstone) have served what I would say is up there with the best (if not indeed the best) of Indian food I have tasted

The servings are generous and the food extremely tasty - the palek paneer was super delicious and creamy and the butter chicken to die for; the pickles served with pappadam were perhaps a little spicy for my taste and I agree with some other feedback that the chef is quite generous with his curry heat so be careful. Service was prompt and super friendly. We arrived without a booking at about 7pm and we were the only diners on the covered verandah, but the restaurant soon filled up with guests.

Highly recommended for lovers of Indian food!!!

Buttered Chicken hotness: medium approx 90 kwatcha
Very tasty, a little to weak for a medium. Small pieces of chicken.

Mutton (lamb) masala hotness: medium approx 105 kwatcha
Also very tasty, nice consistency, nice hotness. Bigger pieces in this one, I prefer it.

Rice approx 34 kwatcha
Don't remember the name of the dish but it was with a little shopped cashew nuts in it and the rice had diferent colors but it didn't give any flavor just the color.

Garlic naan approx 17 kwatcha
good garlic flavor and perfect amount

+ The waiters took good care of us during the dinner and helped us to find a reliable taxi home (2 km 20 kwatcha at night)
+ it was a lot of food in the stews, we could even had cheerd but we took a doggy bag.
+ some of the guests where from India that gives a good impression.
+ warm plates

A little bit of from centre of the town but taxi is cheap anyway.

We had a delicious meal; the service was excellent, the wine beautifully chilled & the food well presented. The staff were friendly & engaging. The decor was elegant & stylish & it made the perfect setting for our last evening in Zambia

You meet the nicest people sometimes when you travel. We stopped at the Golden Leaf for dinner early April. We had just come back from a day long trip and had the taxi drop us at the restaurant. It got dark by the time we were done and we stepped out to find a taxi to take us back to our hotel. Fifteen minutes went by - we were unable to flag a taxi down and it started to feel a little unsafe. There were drunk/high people walking by though no one bothered us. The restaurant manager noticed us standing and asked us back in. She then proceeded to find a private taxi for us (we knew the going rate) and we got back to our hotel safely. On top of all this we enjoyed our dinner when we were there too. Wish I had gotten the manager's name - thank you.
