We actually stayed in the Annex section of The New Grand Hotel, which seems to cater more to business and tour groups.

Our room 951 is spacious by Japanese standards with room for a couch. The beds are hard but not uncomfortable.

The restaurant serves breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30,offering a wide variety of western and Japanese foods. The scrambled eggs are runny, but have good flavor. The pancakes are cold and dry. The hash browns cold and tasteless. Still, there is enough to choose from that will please most people.

The hotel is centrally located so you can walk to most of the sightseeing attractions.

The hotel is easily accessible from both Narita as well as Haneda Airport on the Airport Limousine bus. It is within 5 minutes' walk from the Moto-Chukagai train station and 3 minutes' walk from the Seabass (ferry) stop at Yamashita Park.

The rooms are clean and newly renovated and the free wifi very strong. Beds are super comfortable and pillows are thick and fluffy. After a good night's sleep, it was a joy to wake up to views of the beautiful Yamashita Park and the harbour. Cheerful greetings from all levels of staff anytime of day enhanced an already pleasant stay.

We did not have breakfast in the hotel but ate at the nearby Chinatown one morning and the famous Eggs & Things chain which is about three doors away another morning.

Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Yokohama.

I particularly l liked the breakfasts with this hotel. Although the eggs were typically slightly cooked and very runny, the breadth of the offering was excellent and fresh. The lobby was fine and rooms small, although well appointed and clean as could be. My room was quiet, too.

The hotel was very nice and was located in a good spot downtown. We were able to walk to many things from there. The room was Western style and a tiny bit larger than some others we had stayed in. The bed was very comfortable and I got one of the first good night's sleep that I'd had on the trip. The restaurant was just okay but the breakfast had a reasonable variety of food and the staff very nice. For location and comfortable beds, I'd definitely stay here again.

After traveling around Japan for two weeks, we finally encountered a set of drawers in this hotel. There was a full size closet with a top shelf. The bathroom has plenty of towel racks. This is the closest to a Motel 6 we have seen. It felt like home.
But the bathroom was so small. The toilet was set at an angle. You have to close the door to use it. We just chuckle at the oddities that we encounter in our travels. Yes, the décor is very old, but the room is functional. We'll take it, compared to some of the other rooms we've had.
Breakfast is on the 12th floor with a beautiful view. The selection is huge with both Western and Japanese choices. Even an omelet station.
