We loved everything about this hotel. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and never let us down. The room itself was large by Japanese standards and had all of the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable and there was a choice of pillows so that was good, too. Only problem was that my husband’s feet stuck out of the bottom of the comforter (tall American!). A top sheet would have helped the situation.

Bathroom was nice with lots of toiletries. Then there was the shower ..... one of the best on our entire trip!

Western breakfast on the 2nd floor had everything you can imagine with some Japanese items, too. This was one of the best breakfasts on our entire trip and was really good. There is also a Japanese restaurant, but we did not try that one.

Location is great across from the train station. We walked over during a rainy day and used the underground tunnel. There are restaurants in the train station as well as many other shops.

Hotel is very quiet and clean. Enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel and was very satisfied with my choice. The hotel's location is perfect for those arriving by train. It is located across the street from the main entrance to the train station. There is also an underground connection from the train station to the hotel property so that during inclement weather guests don't need to surface to the street.

There is also a bus depot and taxi stand located at the main entrance to the train station. This makes all travel around Kanazawa very convenient from the hotel itself. Using the JR Rail Pass we were able to use two different bus lines at no cost as a free hop-on hop-off service that took us to most of the city's main attractions and interesting neighborhoods.

The rooms are among the most spacious that we experienced anywhere in Japan during our 2-week visit. We requested a room on a high floor and were pleasantly placed at the 24th floor with a view facing the distant ocean that was beautiful at sunset.

Rooms are nicely appointed, clean and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the free smartphone that was placed in the room but could be used off property throughout our stay. It really made things a lot easier to have this free service provided by the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel was buffet style on the second floor or Japanese style on a higher floor. The second floor buffet breakfast was really wonderful with numerous choices of both Western and Japanese style foods. For the adventurous , something truly different would appear each morning. I will never forget trying salted, fermented roe from puffer fish as well as the puffer fish or Fugu sushi that had been dried overnight.

There were also less exotic and wonderful breakfast choices like four flavors of gelato, kiwi gelatin, wonderful baked items, shrimp (both cooked and sushi), and a station where eggs would be prepared to order. The fruit choices were also excellent and included delicious strawberries, lychee, kiwi, pineapple and even a cantaloupe-honeydew hybrid melon that we saw for sale in the local market for USD $30 each. This hotel offered the best variety and quality that we had experienced for breakfast in Japan.

Although this hotel is somewhat pricey, it's comfort, convenience, views and professional service all make it an outstanding value and in my opinion a great place to stay in this lovely City.

Very well located, close to the station. Staff are very friendly with reasonable levels of English. The room was fairly spacious for Japanese standards and the bathroom was well stocked with L’Occitaine products. There was a separate bath and shower, high-tech Japanese toilet and twin basins. A few surprising details included a fridge stocked with complementary drinks and snacks, vouchers for welcome drinks in the bar for both evenings we stayed and a “handy mobile” which was a free to use mobile phone with free local calls and a small number of free international calls (not the UK). You were encouraged to take the phone out with you as it had Google Maps and saved you getting lost.

There was a choice of Japanese or Continental buffet breakfast in different restaurants. We used the continental on both days. It was quite basic with a choice of hot and cold food. Everything was self service, including hot drinks, which is slightly unusual for a hotel of this quality.

The concierge was helpful and knowledgeable although their English skills were limited.

We had booked 2 rooms at this hotel and only one was ready when we checked in. When we saw that the bed was up against the wall, again, we decided to arrange a bigger room so we could at least walk around the bed. We did have to pay extra but the bit of extra space was worth it.
Big bathroom with good toiletries. Wifi good, newspaper delivered in the morning.Only issue with the room was an automatic light that went on each time you walked near the bathroom - light up the room at night!
Breakfast was good - good choices.
Good location, worth the stay.

A full-service hotel with helpful and friendly staff, very decent sized room with a comfortable bed, 5 minutes walk to the train station and buses, quiet room... Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Made me want to stay at other Nikko hotels in the future.
