“A real landmark in Hakodate”
Review of Goryokaku Tower

Goryokaku Tower
Ranked #2 of 205 things to do in Hakodate
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 2 April 2018

An elevator brings you up high in the Tower to veiw a 360 degrees Hakodate town area. The top also has a nice representation of the resurrection that occurred in the area and a history of the European style fort that started it.

One of the best viewing towers i’ve ever been in my life. It’s really super romantic in winter - covered in snow. The entrance fee is cheap and you can spend around 2 hours here.

Magnificent view on the top of the tower overlooking the castle compound. Able to see the star shape fort and the old moat is still around.

it is a nice park. and must go up to the tower to see the star shape of the park. As i visited at winter season, the path is slippery to walk. better to visit at other season without snow.

Nestled adjacent to the historic Goryokaku Park, this imposing edifice can stand magnificently in Hakodate’s skyline. It offers visitors beautiful views of snow covered landscape and the white dusted cherry blossom trees of Goryokaku Park.
