This buried shrine gate is on the road side which is accessible by a bus that run around the island, or can hire a taxi or drive to here. Visiting here offer a chance to imagine the powerful down pour of hot volcanic ashes and the aftermath it can caused.

This was a really neat little stop on Sakurajima. You can see the shrine gate that was buried by volcanic ash years and years ago. It is a small little area and won't take too long to see, but it is really cool.

A buried shrine gate reminds of powerful volcano eruption many years ago. It is preserved for historical value.
