Very interesting place to eat your morning sashimi. You buy 10 tickets for 1300yen and you can select the various sashimi. Each dish cost 1 to 3 tickets depending on what u want to eat.

I come from Hawaii, so we are used to going into any supermarket's fresh fish section and ordering a "Poke" bowl which has prepared cubes of raw tuna with seaweed or other sauces. But what makes this nokkedon fishmarket a place to visit is the novelty of choosing what kind of seafood will go into your "poke bowl." No, you cannot season it with anything other than wasabi and shoyu, but there are so many different kinds of seafood raw and cooked that you should buy a ticket of ten (or five tickets). I believe ten tickets was 1,300 yen and 6 tickets were 650 yen. One of those tickets will be used to fill a bowl with rice. After that, you go around trading your tickets for little servings of tsukemono (1 ticket), miso soup (1 ticket), slices of boiled octopus or squid (1 ticket) or big scallops or fatty tuna (2 tickets). Uni varies by the amount or quality so that's why I check out all the stalls before deciding on what will be in my bowl. My kids thought it was fun, too. Afterwards, we sit in one of the 5 or so sitting areas that the market provides and eat away. We were done in under an hour!

So, first you buy tickets - easy, as staff is very helpful. Then you go and buy great seafood by those tickets - easy, as salespersons are really helpful. Then you sit down and eat with green tea all those delicious masterpieces - finding seat might be little difficult.
Pattern is great and it is rather easy to collect really magnificent meal. Only problem is that after eating you realize that there would be so many other tasty alternatives. New visit next day is really good idea!
Low priced, really pleasant experience-

Visited the place for lunch for the first time. I planned to buy some good varieties of seafood but when I got 2 scallops, that was almost enough because they were so big! Of course, they were very fresh and delicious too!
For those who are not seafood eaters, there are shops that sell some fried foods and grilled meat as well.

Visited around lunch time and it was very busy with little room to sit. There is a very good range of seafood elements if you look around the various traders. Our Nokkedon was enjoyable but probably twice as expensive as you would find at a local casual restaurant. All the traders were friendly and helpful. Unless you bounce into a tour group from one of the cruise ships, you don't get a feel of the place being too "touristy".
