drove 4 hours from KL, very picturesque arrival with the vast greenery and golf course.. felt like paradise...

Check in experience was fast but somehow the receptionist kept repeating ' sorry? sorry? ' to almost everything that I spoke to her... i dont think i spoke that softly.. perhaps she is used to that unconsciously, which is rather irritating... booked specifically for a refurbished studio room but was upgraded to a non refurbished 1 bedroom unit.. the management should understand that not all upgrade are supposed to be welcomed.. especially in this case where i dont need the size of a 1 bedroom, but i need a refurbished studio..

Upon entering the room , the irritation continued -- room did not have bath towel, kitchen sink tap was broken ( we just left the broken faucet on the basin), the bedroom did not come with a night curtain so please dont expect to sleep till noon.. shower pressure was extremely low because the flexible hose was leaking, wardrobe hinge was broken. We called housekeeping for the towel and it was delivered in 20 minutes.. the towel has seen better days...we told the attendant of the broken kitchen tap, but nobody came to repair it. In fact, nobody came to repair it throughout our 2 nights stay , despite room attendant that went in for housekeeping.

On the second night, the room air con started to leak.. we called reception at 1140pm and they promised to send the maintenance guy over, but as expected, it didn't happen.

Breakfast - fried vermicelli with black pepper, half risen mini cup cakes, etc.. sufficient to fill the tummy but wouldn;t set you up for second helping.

A choice of 2 swimming pools... we opt for the one at the adjacent complex because the main pool was full of fully clothes guests.. which was quite disgusting... upon reaching the other pool at the adjacent complex, we faced with the same issue of fully clothes guests in the pool.. and to top it off, the surrounding area was dirty..visible cigarette butts all over, dirty pool drainage, etc..

we were very glad that checking out was a breeze...

Will we return? possibly not..

Room tip: ask for refurbished room

despite mixed comments in tripadvisor, i've decided to enjoy 1 night gateway at pulai springs resort with 4 hour drive from kl. Once reached, I've to admit that the view were spectacluar and the resort facilities was great. Pool have great view & the spa treatment was nice.
However Pulai springs could take time to focus on small details. For example the mini bar wasnt cold at all and the place that mini bar was place was old and rusty(which this shuouldn't happen at 4 star resort like pulai spring). My bad experience was at the cafehouse where i decided to dine in with expectation that I could have fast dinner but it was rather dissapointing at the end i spend 2 hours waiting for my meals to arrive. This is rather dissapointing since there were not many guests at the cafehouse. The management should look into this whether they're under staffs when the rooms were full house at that time. Furthermore wiifi connection was bad in the room.
Overall, it's mixed feeling for me whether to visit again pulai springs resort.

Reservation was weak. Payment made and receipt sent . After prompting received acknowledgement with a note "your booking is confirmed" . It was confusion when I re confirm payment status during check in time. The night after checked in received email receipt uncleared please resent ! .

Room was old. Toilet was mouldy and toilet bowl was clog. Not willing to wait we went out sightseeing however in the middle of night it overflow with faeces floating out which is s nightmare. Maintenance was sluggish.

Did not expect award winning hotel having such discord. Do not think will consider a revisit .

Hotel was off the city area. Unless having own transport . Otherwise do consider other option.

Stayed for 5D4N for work.
The rooms were comfortable and the food is so-so.
There's 2 pools and a few good places to take some nice pictures.
Didn't manage to hit the green but saw quite a few people coming and going.
They have a sort of recreation centre building that has a game room ( a few pool tables and arcade games - not in good condition). They do have bike rentals, for RM 10.60 ( i dont really get having to charge that 60cents, GST or not, it's a bike rental, make it an even 10, is that difficult? do u really need that 60cents.) Dont expect mountain bikes - its more of a old school, cycling in the countryside type of bike.

They also have a fish pool/pond thing that has a sign that read "don't feed the fish" but they also sell fish food for RM 5 back in the game room. I believe the management is undecided on their fish feeding policy.

Front desk team was a bit difficult not really "warm and friendly" and miles from efficient.
Experienced a blackout on Friday night (a hotel blackout, this was a first for me) and decided to go out. Came back around 11 and the whole stretch from the entry gate to the hotel building was pitch black, although they did fix it so that the hotel itself had electricity.

The kicker is when we went out on Saturday morning and came back in the evening - the room door was unlocked and the door was not closed properly. I believe it was because house keeping came in. They did the turn down service and left my room door unlocked and slightly ajar. I called the guest service and and tried to explain, even she interrupted me mid sentence and said " i transfer you to housekeeping" and kept repeating it until i said ok. House keeping was no help. I told her that guest services transferred me to housekeeping. I also told her that my room was unlocked and opened. She obviously got annoyed that I was transferred to her and told me "I don't know, have to check". the conversation went no where. she obviously was agitated and don't have anything else to say . So i ended the conversation. Fuming but also scared for my safety.

None of the staff apologised! None asked if anything is missing or if we are OK. both we rude and non helpful. And overall the opposite of good customer service.

The place might look nice but the staff i encountered are bad, like really bad.
since i value service as much as accommodations, this hotel is on my "do not recommend list"

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review after staying with us.

First and foremost, we are truly sorry about the black-out incident. It was truly unfortunate, but I hope you know that we did out best to quickly restore the electricity. We called the electricity service provider (TNB) and there were there to assist us throughout the night.

In the mean time, I sincerely apologize on behalf of our staffs especially from the front desk, call centre as well as the housekeeping. This should not have happened as our mission is to always provide our guests with the best services and to ensure that everyone leave the resort feeling happy and satisfied. I would like to inform you that my team and I have arranged for some extensive trainings involving all associates from various departments. I believe that with proper trainings, our associates are able to deliver superior services.

I really hope you are able to give us another chance to prove to you. The next time you are here, please feel free to contact me. Hope to see you again.

Take care.
