We had the most incredible experience at the Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi! From the beginning, you could tell service was their number one priority. With Titanium Bonvoy status, we had free breakfast, were treated with special gifts each day, and greeted by every member of the management team. I originally booked one of the Rainforest Deluxe King rooms. I used my nightly upgrade rewards and we were upgraded to the Grand Ocean Front Villa. It was the most beautiful villa we have ever stayed in. The room was immaculate and very spacious. We had a small issue with the air conditioning one night, but the engineering department was quick to fix it and we were given free drinks for the very slight inconvenience.
Not only was the property very nice, but what made the trip for us was the staff. Harraz at check-in and check-out was prompt, courteous, and made sure we had everything we needed. On check-out he gave us 2 RC hats and a thoughtful handwritten note after noticing that we had been looking at them at the gift shop. It was really this small gesture and touch that made us appreciate the staff going above and beyond. Karthik was so generous to us and made sure we were taken care of every single day. Niam, Mia, Ling Lee, and many others made the experience so much more enjoyable. The staff is really what made this a trip of a lifetime.
We spent most of our time on the property as we had been traveling around Asia the last two weeks and had wanted to just relax. The beach was very nice and spacious with plenty of beach chairs. Every now and then the staff would walk around with fruit, cool towels, or some other treat. They always made sure our water and drinks were full. The infinity pool at the Horizon Bar was beautiful. It was plenty big and adults-only so there was plenty of room to spread out. It was a very relaxing experience.
As far as the restaurants are concerned, we tried all of them except the Langkawi Kitchen for dinner. Breakfast is served in the Langkawi Kitchen and its a large buffet with every type of food you could think of. There's also a mimosa bar which made for a great start to the day. We really enjoyed our experience at the Hai Yan restaurant. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed watching the sunsets and the food at the Horizon Bar. You really can't go wrong at any of the restaurants on the property.
We're very thankful for everyone who made our vacation great, and we can't wait to come back to visit again!
