As a resort restaurant, this place does a pretty good job. The staff are lovely (albeit some are inexperienced), the food is very good, but the prices are way too high. You'd get a similar meal for one third of the price if you caught a cab to the Art Cafe for example. The other thing that annoys me is inconsistent pricing. I.e. At Kaya Puti, the champagne promo sells a bottle for MYR300, yet here it's 450 and the Manager won't match it?! (Same resort!). I guess it's why this place misses the 5* rating.

The below information has been shared with the management of the hotel who have taken it very seriously and have since compensated us. I still feel I have an obligation to warn others until the hotel is up to a better standard.

All your staff in the restaurant was clearing glasses that were still full so we had to hold on to them every time a waiter came around.
Drinks and pastries were only offered to some of us on the table whilst others were ignored.

Breakfast

I asked for milk and was served almond milk. Surely, if there are more than one options the waiter has to ask. And if they are to assume, surely they should go with normal milk, not a substitute.
The cheeses at the buffet should be chilled as they are melting off the plates.
None of the dumplings had labels so each guest had to open every single steam basket and check what was inside. When asking which of the dumplings contained seafood the staff could not confirm with confidence.
On Saturday I ordered the Eggs Benedict and got 2 eggs. On Sunday I placed the same order and got only 1 egg. When I complained the answer was “let me check for you” and subsequently “yesterday you ordered from the Ala Carte menu” which doesn't make any sense at all because I ordered from the menu both days. I explained that I didn't want to wait for another egg to be prepared and that I just meant to give the staff feedback on the fact that they should check at the time of the order if the guest wishes to have 1 or 2 eggs. None of your staff understood this and I was approached by 3 different waiters asking me if I wish to have another egg. It was very annoying and only added to the original issue of receiving half the portion I expected.
The pain au chocolat pastries were overdone both mornings and the chocolate was burnt.

Lunch

My order took 1.5 hrs to be served.
2 or the 3 pizzas we ordered were wrongly prepared. When we sent them back I realised they were doing one of them wrong again so I asked to check the order sheet and had to correct it myself. We were told that getting our ordered re-served would take 10 minutes but it took 40 minutes. Since, as we later discovered, your pizza oven only takes one pizza at a time I don’t understand how your ETA on 2 pizzas can be 10 minutes. Also, I don’t understand the logic behind having a lunch special wood oven pizza offer if you cannot deal with large orders. 3 of 5 ordered a pizza at our table. Since initially all 3 pizzas were served together, I can only assume that the pizza that came out of the oven first was sitting on the counter for at least 15-20 minutes until the 3rd one was done. This is both unprofessional and unhygienic.
3 of 4 starters came at the beginning of the meal, while the 4th one arrived along with the main course despite the fact that we specifically asked for the starters to come first.
Despite the above service, we were asked to pay full price and no discount was made for the shockingly bad service.

Yes you heard it right. Nasi Lemak lobster, the signature dish of L'Orangerie st. Regis. Taste 4/5, lobster with butter sauce is best as is and less curry spice, Nasi Lemak itself was nice and tasty. Price you will have to google . If you wanna difference and experience luxury in a nasi Lemak this will be it. A must do at least once!
