We took this cruise at a quite day, so we were only with 10 people at the boat. It was very nice, the food was good and enough drinks and nice atmosphere. I would def recommend tropical charters.
we went on tropical charters' sunset dinner cruise which was a part of our hotel promotional package, and i'm happy that we chose it. they depart at 4:30pm from resorts world marina and return back at around 8 pm after sunset. As they claim it's a party boat , yes it is but you too should be in party mood for enjoying on boat:))
the boat staff is so lovely , and they will be happy to entertain you and never let you sit without drinks they constantly serve drinks that you never have to ask them for it, really nice service! the food they served was also good but if you are vegetarian you can ask them for it when you book with them . they cruise for 3 hours , with saltwater jacuzzi, sunset view and they have professional diver to help you to swim in seawater.
Really a must have experience in langkawi.
We took a sunset cruise that was actually a part of our deal with our hotel, Resorts World. Started at 5 pm & returned little after 8 pm. The views were great, the speed of the cruise was very relaxing, no thrills but pure relaxation. There were complimentary drinks & peanuts.
Then started the highlight of the cruise- the natural Jacuzzi as they call it. It was actually a rope tied on the back of the ship & u can get on it & just relax while the sea water pampers u. It was a great & innovative concept. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Moreover, the lifeguard was right next to us, on the net, to make us feel safe.
After that, there was barbecue dinner with a good variety, various meats, fruits and desserts. Then, music was played & the crew staff danced along. It was great fun. The entire trip was totally worth it.
Kudos to the staff, Joseph & team, and the life guard Fili, they were perfect hosts. Serving us with a big smile, cracking jokes, dancing along & making drinks... they made it perfect for us... Cheers!!
We wanted to get out on the ocean at some point during our trip to Langkawi, and the front desk at our hotel, The Danna, recommended this sunset cruise.
I was a little concerned that it might not be so suitable for my three year old daughter, but I needn't have worried. Although it turned out that she was the only child on this trip, she had a great time!
The drive from the Danna (included in the trip) took around half an hour, after which the cruise itself lasted around three hours. The boat leaves from a really picturesque spot in the south of the island, and the sail outbound took us through more beautiful scenery while we enjoyed the cocktails and other drinks that were served throughout the trip. After about forty five minutes or so we slowed down, the crew set up the "seawater Jacuzzi" (see other reviews) and let the adrenalin-addicts aboard have fun jumping off the bow and swimming/drifting to the back.
They then cooked and served up a surprisingly good and plentiful dinner (sate, barbecued meat and prawns, rice & curry etc.) before we headed back to the island. On the way back, as the sun set they put some music on while the crew and some of the other passengers made a big fuss of my daughter, dancing with her and throwing her around, to her great delight.
We were really pleased that we did this trip at the end of our stay on Langkawi. It was very good value (I think around RM500 for the three of us), and what impressed me most was the way that the crew seemed to be enjoying themselves, and went out of their way to make sure that their passengers did too.
We last went on a sunset cruise with Tropical Charters 3 years ago. This time, we had booked in for their day cruise but unfortunately due to technical issue , the day cruise couldnt proceed but the staff Shima was quick to offer us either a full refund or choice to change to the sunset cruise. We opted for the latter of course and was not disappointed. Although the vessel seemed a bit more run down ( some broken planks on decks and decks really needed a coat of oil or fresh paint) then previously( 3 years ago), it was still very comfy , with lots of bean bags in the front deck to laze around in. The free flow cocktails and drinks were great and staff were helpful, going around offering to take photos for the guests. Food was combination of BBQ meat , seafood and some different salads. What we enjoyed most this trip was still the " jacuzzi " net which staff put out at the back of the catamaran . You sit in the big net as the boat moves , good fun all round. For the adventurous, you have the option of jumping off from the front of the boat and floating to the back of the moving boat, towards the jacuzzi net. Sunset cruise was a great way for us to chill out and nice finale to our getaway .
Went for a sunset dinner cruise with tropical charters. The staff was very helpful, caring, considerate and ever smiling. The tour was very soothing. The lifeguard with the cruise was an excellent swimmer and kept the guests happy by diving with them.
The toilets and changing room were very awful smelling(no fault of the cruise company) but due to the careless guests not boothering about cleanliness.Could not enjoy the salt water jacuzzi because of not being able to find a decent changing place.Though the staff tried to make things better by spraying room freshners but it didnt help. The snacks and drinks were very tasty but the dinner had practiclly nothing for Indian vegetarians.Had to make do with boiled rice ,vegetables and salad. There were many Indian tourists on board so it would help greatly if a few indian snacks and food items could be included in the menu.
Otherwise a superb cruise with excellent hospitality.
