A note to all the VIEWERS considering staying in a hotel for the foreseeable. Please be kind to the team members that you encounter during your stay!

Due to disappearance of income for months, the hotel you are staying in probably cannot afford to bring many team members back from furlough.

If you are asked to wait in the bar, with a complimentary drink when you arrive at the hotel because your room is not quite ready. Sit patiently in the bar, and please be assured the team are working as quickly as they can. Imagine if you had to clean 20+ bedrooms yourself and think how long it would take you and how you would be feeling after room number 10!

Don’t be surprised if the receptionist, waiter, housekeeper that you come across, does not actually have that role in their job title. With limited staffing, the hotel becomes 1 team! So if the waiter isn’t familiar with what beers are on offer and has to check, don't sigh and roll your eyes! Say thank you...they are probably the HR Manager! ‍♀️

Your room may not be cleaned everyday, as they have a duty to protect the team and as you should all well know, the virus can survive on surfaces and in the air. So why would they want to send our team into a dangerous environment just so you can have your bed sheets tucked in! They can of course offer you a top up of any guest supplies! In fact, you can have as many tea bags and loo rolls as you like!!! And yes, you have single use cups in your room, because no, they don’t have time to run 400+ cups and mugs through the dishwasher on a daily basis.

When you decide to dine in the hotel, the menu may be limited. Please consider that there is likely to only be 1 chef in the kitchen, on his own, running the whole operation...yes that includes washing up too! They are grateful you chose to dine with them, but please be considerate and don’t complain because there isn’t enough options on the menu and you wanted steak!

I am sure the rate you are paying for your room may be a considerable amount of money to you. But, be rest assured they are considerably cheaper than what you would usually pay. So please do not ask for a discount because the leisure facilities are closed. As above, the industry is already struggling for income without having to process refunds because you weren't impressed with sausage you had at breakfast because it tasted too piggy!

And lastly, it is highly likely the hotel is going through a redundancy and restructure process right now. It is a very sad time for the hospitality industry. So please be kind, it is a very stressful and upsetting time for the team. They work very hard and very long hours to ensure that you have a relaxing break!

I could go on but I am sure you get the gist by now! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy your next stay in a hotel

*additional note
Some get to see their family their kids less than 15 mins average a day, before they fall asleep after loooong day at work and left early to work the next morning everyday. So be nice!

The hotel is in good condition and located in a strategic place.Near to the jetty as well.

But, the most important value here afe the friendly staff frm the reception, to the hostess and the owner. Thank you guys. and, be strong for this period that we are facing now.

Stayed at Greenish for a week, after a stay in north Langkawi.
The hotel is lovely.
Great staff, polite and welcoming.
Nice spacious room with (small) balcony.
Cleaned every day, with fresh towels and plentiful supply of toiletries, including toothbrush and toothpaste.
Coffee/tea and water daily too.
Great pool, big clean and nicely maintained, pool towels available too....only had x4 sunbeds though ?? Although mainly Muslim guests who do not really use them, just the westerners!
Garden nice, palm trees with coconuts (be careful where you sit) banana trees, and even a ‘resident’ Monitor Lizard !!
Breakfast buffet style, some weird choices, but a freshly cooked egg station serving fried or omelette style.
If you do not have a car it is quite a walk, but you can get to Eagle Square and to Duty Free shops.
There is a local night market nearby, Wednesday and Saturday (mainly street food)
There is also a small (x4) area of street food cafes that serve delicious and very cheap food...we ate at each one in turn and most ‘expensive’ bill was 21 ringette (5 to the £ !!)
Only downside is location really, but cabs are cheap (no public transport in Langkawi) especially if you ask a local to book you a GrabCab, similar to Über and cheaper than regular taxi.
