A beautiful hotel with lush surroundings, made perfect by delicious food and wonderful service, especially by Minnie and Fauzan. We could live there forever in the big house with friendly cats. Felt transported to the old kampong days but with modern luxury. Very conveniently located with just 10 minute walk to the beach, passing through a quaint fisherman’s village and greeted by squirrels. Rent a car and drive around the island to waterfalls, paddy fields and mountains.

Room tip: Rent a car for convenience. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport. Only ten minute walk to the beach. Stop by Smiling Buffalo cafe.

Templetree is an outstanding resort in a stunning location, which is complimented by its friendly, warm staff and excellent facilities. We visited as a family of 3 with and absolutely loved our stay.

Set in a beautiful and gorgeous gardens, this resort is a little piece of paradise. The accommodation is comfortable and extremely tasteful and in keeping with the feel of Langkawi Our daughter adored the pool.

The breakfasts and diners offered by Templetree were outstanding, with an extensive menu for both adults and kids and daily specials.

There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like, except for the moment we had to leave. We wished we could have stayed longer,so 2 weeks later we came back.

Just writing this makes me want to go back again!
Highly recommended by us!

I have been returning regularly to my favorite Malaysian Island since 2011, when my daughter and I first visited Langkawi, and Pantai Cenang, and stopped for lunch at Bon Ton, next door to Temple Tree, to meet the cats, dogs and the owners of course, Neryl and Alison. So many happy memories!
I have visited both resorts often, and loved them both, but over the last few years, I've stayed more regularly at Temple Tree after it changed hands and received a major upgrade! I have experienced almost all the antique Malay villas at Bon Ton and the Heritage Houses at Temple Tree, each with its own special character, heritage and history. Although I'm yet to try out the new party venue, Straights House, originally the reception area and restaurant, my favorite would have to be Colonial House!
I stayed in Colonial 3, a spacious and comfortable upstairs room (above an amazing entrance hall) with separate bathroom (and wooden tub) and a balcony for gazing out over the beautiful tropical grounds, while enjoying a leisurely morning cuppa, before wandering across to indulge in a delicious breakfast at Paloh, and a cooling swim in the pool. Then perhaps a stroll to the nearby beach or a massage at the new Spa. As the sun sets a cocktail or beer at Happy Hour, and maybe dinner at Paloh , Nam at Bon Ton or in Pantai Cenang. Perfect!
But what I love best about Temple Tree are the staff. So attentive, kind and helpful - from the lovely ladies who make up the rooms to the wonderful admin, including Fauzan, who always answers my questions so promptly. Special thanks must go to all the bar staff, including our Mexican (?) Pedro, and the amazing Minnie and Mas! Will miss you all so much!!

Room tip: There are some cats who wander the property. but they are very well behaved and won't enter your room (unless invited!)

As a couple we went to the Temple Tree Restaurant several days back and the experience was very good hence we decided on taking two local friends there.
It was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish and thoroughly embarrassing.
On arrival we proceeded to the bar trying to check-in but the girl behind the bar could not hear a word we said due to the excessive volume of what one would loosely describe as canned "music". It was a nauseating din.
We made our way out of the bar area trying desperately to find an area where we could escape the cacophony eventually finding a corner that provided reasonable sanctuary. Once we had kicked away the cigarette ends and two used tissues from the floor under the table at last we sat down and could mercifully carry out a conversation.
We conversed for some time until realising that in order to get served you had to wave, shout or otherwise signal to catch a waiters attention. With that eventually achieved we ordered our dinner, two of the party wishing they had not done so.
One dinner was meant to have chicken with it. To be fair it did but after removing the bone the amount of meat left might, but only just, have filled a small egg-cup.
Another dinner boasted beef. It was clearly stewing steak that could have done with many more hours to render it fit for mastication. Even if that operation had been carried out it certainly should have been accompanied by a Hazardous Warning for those with Dental Bridge Work. It may have been appreciated by a Dobermann or even an Alsatian but that is where it ends.
The litany of disappointments seemed endless and it was such a relief to leave there before one fell into a deep, embarrassing depression.
It should be a quiet restaurant in pleasant surroundings where people can converse and contemplate unhindered by non-stop, shortcomings. Not a place akin to a discotheque pumping out a din through cheap amplifiers accompanied by food that would shame a Transport Cafe.

Lovely quiet hotel in excellent location. Exactly as described. Nice dining area near pool, breakfast was very good, changed daily. As Melburnians we rated the coffee highly! Quirky mix of antiques with a cool vibe. Staff very friendly with nothing too much trouble.

Room tip: Great location, cool pool near lots of restaurants and not far from the beach
