Soluna Guest House is such a wonderful little sanctuary only 5 minutes off of the Main Road in Langkawi. We were lucky to find it on google maps and only booked one night to try it out. Once we arrived we immediately extended our stay till our departure from Langkawi. There is a general feeling of peace and relaxation, the team is very nice and helps with scooter rentals and such. The rooms (we had a standard basic double with shared bathroom) are very clean, have a cute interior and make you feel at home.
Breakfast can be bought until 1pm and provided a great Müsli with yoghurt which made us Austrians super happy.
Ultimately this place has the most competitive prices we have come across during our entire stay in Malaysia.
I would recommend Soluna Guest House do any kind of traveller, from backpackers to couples and families alike.
Many thanks to the team for making our stay in Langkawi so terrificly pleasant!

Room Tip: I would recommend choosing the A/C option for rooms.

Soluna guesthouse is nice, quiet place to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice, clean place where they can stay and chill out for a few days. There were so many guests here who intended to stay in Langkawi for a few days yet ended up staying for days because it was so comfortable to stay here.

We booked our stay at Soluna Guest House on the recommendation of friends and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. We are here for two more days making our stay a week in total. It has been one of the highlights of our SE Asia trip and we cannot recommend this place strongly enough if you are looking for affordable, clean and comfortable accommodation.
The location is peaceful and rural with rice fields and cows adjoining the property. The location is perfect being an easy 5 minute walk to the main beach at Pentai Cenang.
We are staying in Room 1 which is at the end of the block of rooms and has a fan, a/c and a private bathroom. The staff are a joy and cannot do enough to help. Breakfast is available for a nominal extra charge every day from 9am until 1pm and there is a choice of toast, jam/honey, eggs, cheese, sausage and cereals and yogurt. Also available is tea, coffee and water. Soft drinks are available from 9am until 9pm. We really love it here and feel as though we have found a real gem of a place on the beautiful island of Langkawi.
One word of caution though. You can rent cars through the guest house (they use a partner), and we opted for car hire for two days. The gent who brought the vehicle was decent enough but don't expect a pristine vehicle. Our hire car was a bit beaten up but we could live with that. The problem we had was related to the fuel gauge. Just be sure to check that a) it works and b) there is enough fuel to at least get you to the nearest gas station!

Room tip: We had Room 1 which was perfect for us but all the rooms seem fine.

My 2nd visit and certainly would not be my last. Will keep coming back to this charming guesthouse again and again and again. The location, serene & peaceful surrounding is what makes this place very special. This time stayed in aircond room + ensuite bathroom. Not really much of a difference as compared to fan-room because I'm not a big fan of aircond (and the fan is pretty cooling). But if you're not used to hot and humid weather, best to get an aircond room. I had my own transport so moving about wasnt any issue. The common area has everything you need as well such as a small refrigerator, TV, guitar, hammocks, bottle opener, mosquito spray etc.

All in all, keep up the good work Soluna Guest House team! See u in August 2015!

Room tip: Dormitory - If you travel solo Fan Room - Weather is hot and humid. But for a small room, the fan is quite enough. Air-cond Room - If you're used to cool (and/or cold) weather, and thinks that it takes more than a ceiling fan to cool you down, opt for this. Shared bathroom - If you dont mind sharing and possibly queueing (rarely happens). The shared bathroom is spacious and very clean and you will have enough space to shower, loo, change clothes etc. Just close the door when you're done coz the mozzies are always around.

This place is everything you could possibly need in a guesthouse. It's homely, comfortable, quiet and friendly. It's close to everything but set back enough to give you peace when you need it. I will be going back

We loved Soluna. The atmosphere of the place was great -- you could be social if you wanted to, or you could keep to yourself and not feel like you were being rude.

Staff were lovely and very helpful.

There is a gang of adorable cats that live on the property -- they are very sweet and love to try and take naps on your bed (we couldn't resist letting them!). They have easy access to rooms as most of the windows do not have screens.

On that note.. Mosquitoes were real buggers most nights (buy a "pik" at the corner store), and overall our quality of sleep was poor because it got REALLY hot in our fan room. One of the hottest fan rooms we've ever stayed in actually... If it's not too out of your budget, spring for the AC!!!

Also the bed in room 10 sags deeply on the left side... My girlfriend couldn't sleep at all. Pillows are like a firm sponge.

Shared bathrooms were very clean and spacious (6 stalls and showers in total). Rooms were also very clean, and our room was cleaned once during our 7 night stay, perfect.

Location was good -- minutes walk from a lovely stretch of beach that is less busy than the other end... Also 5 minutes or less from a 24 hour Indian place called Almaz, and a Malay place, both very budget friendly!! A large mini mart is also nearby, ask the staff they will give you directions.

Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced (2 ringgit for coffee, 2.40 ringgit for 2 eggs).

Highly recommend this guesthouse, and it is most certainly one of the best (if not the best) in its price range on the whole island.

To get here from the ferry will cost you 30 ringgit by taxi.
