this place sounds nice on paper but that is the extent of it. We paid for many more nights than we stayed. We left disgusted. it is termite infested and ubsafe. no balcony or hand rail is stable. the A/C is only in the bedroom and not the living area. There were holes in the floor. The restaurant at this resort serves really nice food and the pool area is nice too but it is open to locals to use. This is fine except for the fact that one child snarled at my husband when we went to look at the pool. We pais a lot through agoda for this suite and is the worst deal we have ever had. We left before our paid time ran out and stayed elsewhere. It really should be condemned for safety reasons. The restaurant and pool though are nice and the food was really good.

Probably this resort was top class in colonial days, but now it’s passed its best. The plus points: the surrounding wooded area provides a peaceful ambience, with hornbill and drongo birds, the occasional monitor lizard and monkeys. The resort has pleasant grounds to walk around. The main reason I chose this hotel was its nice swimming pool (1.4m depth). However, on arrival they informed us that it is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday. In reality, the public came whenever they wanted as there is often no guard. Evidently, the local boys love the pool for jumping and diving. Weekends at the pool are like circus training.
The management and housekeeping are quite laid-back, but do respond well to requests or complaints.
The WiFi can be rather weak. Breakfast is a quite generous buffet but basic, although they did order yoghurt especially for us.
The room are in bungalows, with an extra living rom in between two double sized bedrooms. We booked an ‘Executive Suite’ of 83 m which included 1 double bedroom and the living room. The rooms have a fridge and an iron with ironing board.
Despite the resort being a bit old and in need of modernisation, I would still consider to rebook as we liked the quieter area away from the main tourist areas of Cenang and Kuha.

On the bright side the air-conditioning is very cool. For the cons everything else is crap. Shower is dirty, toilet cracked and cistern loose. Walls paper thin and you can hear the person in the next room breathing in their sleep. Curtains torn, most lights work, fan was removed. In room wifi wants you to stand outside for a signal. This place is beyond human help.
