We stayed here as a family with two small children on our way from Thailand through Malaysia back to Singapore. The hotel is nothing grand but serves the purpose of staying somewhere cheap and central. Yes the walls are thin and there are no top sheets, there are no windows but this is to be expected at the price we paid. Our room was on the ground floor thankfully as there are no lifts.
The staff are more than accommodating and went out of their way to take us around the city assisting us in buying bus tickets, taking us to a western place for breakfast, driving us to a culture show, markets, kite shop and anywhere else we wanted to stop. Very helpful especially with having two small children. We were also driven to the bus stop across town.
The pizza place next door is run by a Swiss couple and their food is outstanding - BYO wine or beer as its a dry place. Try the jungle salad you wont be disappointed.
Overall our stay was comfortable but made enjoyable by the staff.More
