Stayed 1 night 25-26 Dec 2021. Room 1807 Junior Suite. Stayed with our baby girl there request non smoking room. The room was great, spacious, everything was excellent pertaining to the room. However, during the morning breakfast, this is when the experience started to sour down. Went downstairs to have our breakfast that was already included with the room. The restaurant was packed, no social distancing or any SOP percautions were taken. The restaurant was full with OUTSIDE GUESTS that were there for the hotel promotional Semutar & Sarong breakfast discounted price. We asked the F&B staff there if they could seated us, but we had to wait. Mind you that, during the morning, other restaurant and the lounge in the hotel were still closed. The OUTSIDE GUESTS were still pouring in the restaurant. We had enough of waiting and decided to order room service that WE HAD TO PAY instead of enjoying our included breakfast in the restaurant. Hotel Management should prioritize IN-HOUSE GUESTS instead of just accepting OUTSIDE GUESTS into the restaurant. I had never experienced this kind of situation before at a hotel breakfast buffet. Will not consider Grand Renai anymore in the future for any staycation in Kota Bharu. Other than that, our stay was great. Check in check out was ok. The burnt cheesecake at the lounge was amazing.
