We have booked this hotel many times but now we have done it for the last time. The hotel is getting very bad. The rooms are spacious but sockets are hanging down from the wall, the bad tub is very dirty and the room poorly cleaned (we found hear everywhere). Furthermore there was left over food outside our front door when we arrived and it was still there when we left. Overnight animals appreciated it and left the bones all over the place. The staff is most friendly and the pool is nice but you can see there is no maintenance and poor cleaning. for the money you pay there are much better hotels in Labuan.

My wife and I visited this hotel on Nov 30 with two other couples.
This was not a good experience and we certainly will not be back.
The Hotel presents "reasonably" on arrival and the staff are "reasonably" friendly but that's where your hope forca good stay comes to an end.
Our room was way around the back overlooking an open workshop where workers were doing carpentry and other things. Because it was way around the back pathways etc were being used as a store area for tables, chairs and timber and frames. It was a mess and a less than pleasant outlook.
Food trays were still outside some rooms on our floor (1st) and where our friends were on the 2nd floor.
This hotel may have been good once but not any more. The room we had was large and self contained but tired and in need of some love, attention and maintenance.
Neither of the two fans worked and although the aircon did, my wife who does not like sleeping with aircon had to on this occasion. Consequently she had a very uncomfortable nights sleep.
The bedroom had torn wallpaper which just looked really bad and the floor looked as though it hadn't been vacuumed. I could see bits of dirt quite clearly but the worst was a clump of hair on the floor right next to my side of the bed.
At first I thought it was a feather but
regrettably it was matted hair. I am bald so there was no mistaking what I was dealing with and that it wasn't mine!. This was nothing less than disgusting and the way I think made me wonder about the rest of the hotel, particularly food outlets.
While there was nothing at breakfast to concern me from a cleanliness perspective, the food was terrible.
No taste, even the congee and laksa were probably the worst I've experienced. It was watered down stock and was just awful. I do not understand for the life of me how they can stuff up something as simple as congee? The curry lamb similarly was tasteless and watery and looked greasy with a film of fat over it.
Nothing looked appetising or made with love, interest or passion.
The advertisements for other food outlets within the hotel that were placed in the elevator and in our rooms, looked nice and before the two experiences (general room cleanliness and breakfast) detailed above I was tempted to try the venison or curry oxtail. After breakfast in particular we decided not to bother.
This was a very sad and frankly awful experience at this hotel and it really felt like people just don't care.
I would think twice before booking and certainly eating there.

Tiara is located about 2 km away from the centre of Labuan town. The hotel provides transport to and back from town. Make full use of this service cos taxi rates are very high: RM15 (they only use the coupon system) from town centre to the hotel which is only a 2km ride. Very friendly and attentive staff. They will be more than willing to accommodate your request. I even got a free ride to the airport. The entire hotel is nestled in a beautifully landscaped tropical paradise. There's a huge pond with a variety of fish namely KOI. The hotel has a nice swimming pool. There are many restaurants and bars in the hotel but most are not patronised cos most hotels in Labuan are suffering due to the drop in oil prices and the diminishing influx of expatriates and business people. I was given a massive room with a king-sized bed and a super-single bed too. However, the rates were a little on the high side. Beds were very comfortable. Limited TV channels. No sports channels. Room is in dire need of some serious touch-up: peeling wall paint in the main area and in the bathroom. Water pressure was a little low. My request for extra coffee, creamer and sugar was attended to immediately. Rooms come with complimentary breakfast for 2 and the spread at the buffet is more than satisfactory. Thewar memorial is located only about 500 metres away from the hotel. The airport is about 8-10 minutes away. All in all, I truly enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely return to this hotel if I'm back in Labuan.
