This is a little shack that sits right on the beach and is the F&B outlet of a (presumably) budget beach resort (comprising chalets).
The atmosphere is totally relaxed, with cool friendly staff beckoning us to take any seat we want.
The staff look like they spend all day swimming and surfing (?) before getting down to work in the evening. Tanned and ripped - making guys like me feel more than a little self-conscious!
The seating is really casual - with high tables, beach lounge chairs, wooden benches, sofa - really eclectic and adds to the atmosphere.
Food is standard western - burgers, fish and chips, pasta (they ran out of stock before even opening for dinner!) - which come in generous portions to go with the slightly higher price. We ordered fruit smoothies, which were served in recycled jars. I understand the beer is nice and cold and there is a wide selection of brands.
The fun thing is, you can walk barefoot and dig your toes in the sand as you eat. You can move around and enjoy the sea breeze in the evening, and relax to good music.
"Are we still in Malaysia?" I kept asking myself.
