I stayed in this hotel 6 years ago an it was remarkably average then . It's nickname of the Orient One Star was well deserved then. This time my comapany booked me into one of their suites. I've had things stolen from my room, varying from a toothbrush charger to an iPod, and the management do not seem to care.
In the rooms the bedclothes are changed daily, but please do not be present when this is done, as you will see what lurks under the "fresh" white linen. Never, ever lift up the bed to see whats underneath it. I don't recall a vacuum ever being used in any of the rooms while i spent my 2 months there. Some of the stains on the carpet looked like they would take industrial chemicals to remove.
The laundry service is stuff of legend. Be prepared to receive your clothes in differnt colours and sizes, if at all. You'll more than likely be chasing round the hotel, trying to find what room your clothes ended up in!!!!
I've only ever eaten in the restaurant for breakfast, and those time that I have, the fight for your breakfast between yourself and the many birds that seem to frequent the hotel restaurants is something to video. I suggest you let the birds win, as the they can suffer from the likely food poisoning, instead of you.
On the plus side, the hotel is spitting distance from the Naval Base, if that's where you're going to be working. There is free Wifi in the lobby and some of the rooms, when it's working. Possibly on the first floor too. 2nd & 3rd floor can forget it. Suites also have Sat TV. It's also near some half decent bars/eateries (Jook's and Capri's)
