I stayed in 1926 Heritage Hotel from the 9th of July - 12th of July along with a party of 5.
The rooms were excellent - clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable, making for very good sleep in between our pig-outs in Penang.
The hotel breakfast was simple but very delicious. I would suggest that you wake up at 7 and head to the cafe for breakfast, which is when the food is still piping hot and extremely fresh. If hotel breakfasts are not your thing, the hotel is incredibly conveniently located to the best food stalls in Penang. Literally flanked by famous eateries, there is no need to travel far for good food. We spent most of the 4 days we were there just attempting to try all the food that was within the vicinity.
The hotel is also conveniently located a stone's throw away from the heritage part of Penang, which saved us a great deal on transport costs, given that we walked most of our trip. Transport was also not an issue, when needed. The hotel has a transport booth, where there are service agents who can get you cheap transport in minutes.
My overall experience at the hotel was an excellent one and I would recommend anyone going to Penang to stay at the hotel. 3 thumbs up!
