When we were passing by the restaurant, one thing in our mind is the Law of Good Restaurant; a crowded and busy restaurant must be having a good meals.

The law is correct and when we were visiting the restaurant we were surprised to see the price. We thought it might be expensive but instead, it was very cheap.

There are outdoor seating so you might not need to be worry that you would queue for seating.

The wonderful thing they have is the complete menu!

I don't have any expertise in Indian food but I believe they have every single of Indian food on their sleeve. I even ordered couple of drink like tea and having each of bread like Naan and other.

Tandoori Chicken? Yes they have. Garlic Naan? Of course. Briyani?

All is well cheap for you and your stomach.

If you love Indian food, and like to think of yourself as a bit of a traveller rather than "just a tourist" (!) you MUST go to Kapitan. We ate there twice because it was so good. I can't remember exactly what we ate but it was all delicious. The grandchildren (5 and 3) loved the naan, the rice and the tandoori chicken. The staff were friendly and doing their best to get everyone served - they made a special effort to seat us near a fan! It is very popular and busy, and rightly so. It's a long, long way from smart but if you want to eat well (and incredibly cheaply!) and enjoy a bit of "authentic" atmosphere, Kapitan is not to be missed.

We were recommended this place by two locals and were told it is an institution. Off we went and ordered boneless Butter Chicken curry, Dahl Tadkha (vegetarian curry dish), Tandoori + Naan tasting plate and an additional Butter/Garlic Naan. What can I say, everything was outstanding. The Dahl Tadkha and Butter Chicken were particular highlights but everything was good and so cheap… I think the bill with two juices came to $38RM! On our final day, we were exhausted walking around Georgetown and popped in for another two Naan’s and a butter chicken curry. Just as good the second time. If only a place like this existed back home! If you want Indian, I’m sure you can find good street food in the Little India part of Georgetown but we found Kapitan to be the best.
