This hotel managed to exceed the high expectations and hopes I had from the moment I arrived in my (kindly upgraded) sanctuary, the Rodin room. People look for different things in hotel rooms at different times... if you’re looking for pampering, hours of beautiful sleep, or want/need to hole up somewhere in a cocoon of comfort, 88 Armenian is your place. There’s the huge dreamlike bed, welcome cocktail and free minibar of local delights, the tv stocked with Netflix and whatever you need... and then there’s the bathroom of glory with perfect bath and shower and an absolute wealth of Aesop products. Request the bath butler from the bar downstairs then carry up your glass of wine when it’s all set. Doubtless great for romantic visits but also decadent indulgence if the trip is all for you.
Everything about the room is perfect, with the exception that you can’t open the shutters across the windows yourself. Meaning you’re locked into unnatural light until housekeeping visits. That and there’s no lobby or by- the-window sitting area to relax. But honestly, so many hotels have those features. The bath and bed here are worth those trade offs and the hotel’s location in the absolute heart of the tourist quarter make this a clear winner. Value for price was outstanding - long may that last!
Service from all staff was flawless throughout the stay. Breakfast is excellent. Service from all staff was flawless throughout the stay. Breakfast is excellent. Cocktails in the bar are fine but not the best in town but wine by the glass is excellent value and quality. Will definitely stay here if visiting Georgetown again - or in need of catching up on sleep!More
