The hotel is clean, nice and cozy.
It is well maintained and the staffs are friendly too.
The hotel have very nice room design and loved the Jacuzzi.
It is a family trip with young children.
Location wise is very strategic as it's walking distance to famous food area.

My first trip to Penang and after a bit of a search selected the Hotel Penaga for my 4-day stay. The hotel has a rustic, nostalgic of an older time Asian experience. My room (Hutton) was large and nicely decorated. Balcony overlooking the courtyard garden was a nice addition. Location wise - great - 1 min walk to the main Penang Rd. Breakfast was a buffet affair and offered a reasonable selection - so no complaints. Housekeeping was great almost as soon as I put my "please make up my room" sign - it appeared to get done! Staff were great and nothing appeared to be too much trouble.

Great location handy for the old town, atmospheric, the room was full of lovely old or antique oriental furniture. Staff were helpful and let us leave our luggage most of the day when we left. A nice bar. Breakfast buffet was good. Wouldnt eat there in the evening unless you just didnt want to go out. Menu was basic but well cooked but clearly its not part of their main offering. I would certainly stay again.

Stayed at the Penaga hotel for 3 nights last week. Was not impressed. Other than a great location in Georgetown there is not much else positive to say. The accommodation was average. Spaciaious rooms with nice bathrooms and a nice outdoor jacuzzi. Lighting was quite dim throughout the entire apartment. Breakfast was poor. Every morning you're woken up by one of the workers opening some sort of shutters at the front of the hotel very loudly just outside the front doors at 7am. The gym and pool weren't much to talk about either, both very small. Staff were friendly and informative though

We are apologizes that some of the area was not up to your expectation. Of course for the lighting we are now in the midst to change the bulb to the higher watt in most of the rooms. We will have our team to look into the breakfast and also the opening shutter at the Clarke Terrace in the early morning . We are sincerely apologize for inconvenient caused to you during the stay.
The gym and pool was made up this way (small) due to building structure itself and land area.
