First time in Panang, The Muntri Grove a hidden gem, as we entered the staff made us feel most welcome, words cannot express how they helped where ever possible, idle talks with Rugu, Joycelyn, Perves, Naz, Rupesh, Krishan and Shawn gave me a insight into Malaysian life and culture, Rugu was as a brother and he and I shared life stories, we did a bit of talking in his off time and Joycelyn I think of as a daughter, every one treated us as family, we will treasure this time there, a bit of live music near by on the weekend livened up sitting outside with a vitamin B, thank you Naz, Rugu it was a pleasure to have our holiday with wonderful people and Joycelyn thank you for helping Liz, the rooms and service provided is tops, the Mews for breakfast magic, I will enjoy keeping in contact when possible, fond memories we have of our stay. Shane .

Room tip: No breakfast catered, go down to the Mews, kitchen area near pool to do a bit if you need,

We absolutely love Muntri Mews! Every time we go to Penang we stay there. The staff is wonderful, very accommodating and friendly— The lady Manager is very helpful and super sweet! The rooms are beautiful, always superbly clean and nice shower in the bathroom. The terrace is beautiful and a great place to eat lunch or breakfast or enjoying a drink! You should try their pastries...especially the "chocolate lava cake"!!
I highly recommend staying here! Will 100% stay again on our next trip to Georgetown.

Stayed 4 nights in MM. chose this hotel due to some sentimental reasons. My aunt used to live in one of the units along Muntri Street. The location of the hotel is good, can easily walk to many eateries and attractions. However there are a few AFI that the hotel can look into.
1. A signage could be put at the door to show the reception area. On the day of check in, the staff was not at her table. I walked into the property with my luggage, passed the cafe and wander all over unsure where the check in reception was. I passed by the waiters in the cafe but none approached us to ask if we were checking in - thought it was obvious with us lugging our luggage all over. I had to ask a waiter who pointed to the room next to the cafe which was the reception, with just a desk and laptop.
2. Upon check in was shown a unit opposite the main building. Our room was on the 2nd floor and we had to climb a steep staircase. I’m ok with the staircase as long as someone could help us with the luggage up the stairs. My mum is 73 and my aunt is 72. All 3 of us are ladies and I would have issue managing 2 huge luggage. Was happy that the hotel assisted to bring the luggage up upon check in.
3. The day before check out, I went to the reception to ask for help with the luggage for the next day. We had to leave for the airport at 7.30am. The lady at the desk told me that their staff only start work at 8am and the person working the night shift is an old uncle so he’ll not be able to help. I told her my mum and aunt are in their 70s. It is difficult for us to carry the luggage down the steep stairs. She offered no solution and looked at me blankly. She also told me she would not be in so early to do the check out. So I asked her how to settle my bill and finally decided to pay up on the spot. Frankly I was really upset with her service.

Eventually to solve our problem, we packed all our stuff into recycling bags and laundry (thanks to the hotel for supplying quite a few) bags the night before. In the morning on check out day, we carried the empty luggage to the first floor, it was more manageable. Then we carried all our recycling bags and laundry bags in batches and repacked into our luggage on the first floor.

I would think the hotel could be more accommodating by asking a staff to come in half an hour early to assist with the luggage. With the price that I paid, I really hope the service could be better.

The spacious Loft with 3 king beds was perfect for our family of 5.

You feel as if being transported back to centuries past within these walls. Beautifully done, thoughtfully preserved. Yet, modern enough to give you maximum comfort. The lounge, room and especially the bathrooms were super clean. The bed had just the right hardness for a peaceful sleep.

The food in Mews Cafe was delicious and you will be spoilt for choice in Lebuh Muntri as well as the adjacent Love Lane that had so many fancy eateries and bars to hang out in. Even the famous Original Nasi Kandar Line Clear is only a 7-minute walk away.

The staff at Muntri Mews were friendly and helpful. Everyone was pretty quick to respond from the point of reservation months before your stay to check-out.

A point to note though, the Loft had many steps that were quite steep, so this may not be the best choice for families with young children or aged members or those with mobility issues.

Will definitely go back to Muntri Mews, or any of their sister hotels. Keep up the good work!

Room tip: Parking can be tricky. Suggest you park nearby and just use e-hailing services to get anywhere. Remember to download the parking app to pay for parking though.

We had a family wedding to attend and there were 8 of us. We had one of the Heritage House(1) with very generous rooms and communal areas. Facilities were great with easy access to the Mews Cafe and reception to accomodate all our varying needs. Being in the Heritage zone we were able to walk to all the sights, spoilt for choices of cafes, restaurants, bars and street food. The location is perfect for the family with varying tastes and interests. The rooms were very generous in space and the decor were tastefully appointed with great attention to details and thoughtful extras. A wonderful experience for us all in a heritage house that had been restored to its former glory. Thank You Linda and all the Mews Team.

Room tip: There is a 2 car space in the drive!! What a bonus. All rooms have multiple beds so it’s perfect for friends travelling too.
