Beautiful hotel, with amazing rooms. Our room was big, clean and beatiful. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. Also a good breakfast and perfect location. You can walk everywhere. I would def recommend this hotel to anyone. An unique hotel.

Beautiful traditional Penang hotel. Really helpful, friendly staff and in a fantastic position to enjoy Penang. Couldn’t recommend more highly. There are lovely communal areas, especially the roof terrace; breakfasts are great. A holiday experience for those visitors wanting a traditional Malay experience not a modern, corporate experience,.

Campbell House is excellently located.
Very friendly staff and a comfortable clean room with a wonderful bed.
Only downside is the noisy aircon.
When you think of it as being on a plane, it will not keep you from a nice rest.
The annex Italian restaurant serves a good breakfast and you can have a nice dining experience if you want to switch from the streetfood.

It’s going to be hard for me to leave a review that is succinct yet covers the enormity of how extraordinary this venue is. This hotel is fully aware of what outstanding service should look and feel like and what I believe has challenged the ordinary concept of luxury. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in safe hands and trust was inspired immediately.
My room, Indochine is filled with tasteful interiors substantially royal like in colonial design, holding true to a rich tapestry of heritages. The thoughtful amenities from the glow in the dark night light, to the ‘proper coffee’.
Body lotion, shampoo and soap have been created especially for this hotel, the scent still lingers strongly in my recollection thereafter creating a sensory observation that evokes the sanctuary of my stay.
What could be done to improve this place? Candidly, I would say simply more Kumars’ Kumar is a rare gem who has mastered the art of front of house services. I started and ended my stay in Kumars company, for me he upholds the charm of what I think a hotel of this grandeur renders.
For anyone considering booking this venue, do not hesitate. Location, efficiency, cleanliness and charm is of sterling value.

Tastefully decorated rooms, lobby and spacious rooftop terrace, very helpful and kind staff, great location, super comfortable bedding, a small surprise in the afternoon, a delicious breakfast with the best coffee we have had in Malaysia and a fantastic Michelin-rated Italian restaurant, what more does one need when staying in George Town? We highly recommend this gem of a boutique hotel with all its charms that make you want to spend more time in Penang!
