Chosen this hotel because of it location. Didn't expect much on their service. Charles the receptionist during check in behave arrogant and not friendly/helpful. A poor Korean old lady was at the counter beside me and being service by a trainee who basically didn't know a lots of thing. He (the trainee) keeps asking Charles every single things and Charles is not being helpful to him and that Korean lady. The Korean lady asked where can she find Korean food because she misses Kimchi. To my surprise, when the trainee asked Charles, he simply answer no Korean food around. Where does the Malaysia hospitality gone? He didn't even make an effort to help the Korean lady to find her comfort food! I eventually have to tell the Korean lady that she can get Korean food in First Avenue mall next to the hotel. I hope the hotel will train their staff, especially at the reception to be more friendly and professional.
I was given a room in 10th floor with the shower head going to broken soon. Please improve your maintenance as well!

We had stayed in the King Deluxe room for 4 nights. The room is nicely furnished and comfy. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bed is very confortable. We enjoyed the stay. The room insulation could be improved to increase the room comfort. Overall its great.

We were there as an extended family to celebrate my husband birthday however we did not inform the front desk of this occasion during check in..

The front desk lady (Catherine, I think) whom handled our check in had arrange a cake to be sent to our room on my husband birthday. We were surprised and delighted of her kind gesture!! She’s so thoughtful and made this stay extra special for the family!!

we stayed at the apartment which came with an additional bed extended at the living room for my helper... room was spacious, big enough for an 18months old to roam around happily.. the room looked exactly as the image on the hotel site..

Walking distance to both kimberly street and chulia street night hawker, around 10-15mins.. where all the good food are, apart from that also walking distance to a couple of malls located nearby.

Perfect for a quick and nice getaway!!

Decided on the hotel on a whim. And am so happy we did so :)

First, the location. Location location location. It is walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go. The nearby malls, although not glitzy, were more than sufficient for me to get my toiletries, some food and pick me ups.

What was even more important was that it was close to all the fabulous makan places and places of interest. The famous Presgrave Hawker centre, Chulia Food street, Red Beer Garden, the Heritage areas along Chulia and Armenian Street. We tried so many variations of the hokkien prawn noodle, char kway teow, oyster omelette and lorbak. There were some surprises such as the bakwa and porkfloss bun sold from a food cart at Presgrave. That was super! The beef noodles along Carnarvon Road was excellent. But my favourite this time was the lormee at Presgrave. SLURPILICIOUS!

We ended the trip with a seafood and grill buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant. Spread was wide and the food was pretty good. There was sufficient variety with some hits and misses. The hits were definitely the wait staff. They were helpful and attentive and a shout out goes to Nisha who was very friendly and pleasant and made us feel so welcome.

Aside from the location and fabulous food, the hotel was clean and very comfortable. I stayed in the family room that slept 3 adults. The sofa bed was comfortable and there was enough space without us running into each other. The hotel also noted that asthere were 3 adults, we definitely needed more amenities and these were all provided. Double supplies and 3 toothbrushes and 3 tubes of toothpaste and 3 sets of towels for each of us. It shows they have put thought into the booking and this spoke well of the hotel. I do not take it for granted that all hotels will remember this because fromexperience i know they dont.

I had a great stay and will definitely be here again when I'm next back in penang!

I enjoyed this property. It is very central to George Town's commercial heart and has a good 'vibe' about it. Our room was bright and airy and had profited from fairly recent renovation. The level of service was impressive.

Room tip: Go higher up to avoid ambient noise.
