Strategic location where a lot of food stalls on the same street, even by walking distance within 15 mins also many good restaurants. Room is not big but very clean. Need to beware of the room charge online is only for two (2) people though I have selected the no. of passenger as 3, it is compulsory to pay extra headcount. 3) The Front Desk staff, Kevin, Daniel, Nizam, Sabna were great. They were very helpful and polite.
AIRPORT TRANSFER
4) Sunway Georgetown do not provide free Airport transfer. Why is this? Should this be part of the hotel service to guests.
PRIVATE DRIVER
5) Mr Reihan was very polite, accommodating and helpful.
6) He drove us around Penang for 3 days.
7) He brought us to eat good food in Penang.
8) We were very happy with his service.
DELUX ROOM
9) The Pillows were hard, making it very uncomfortable to sleep.
10)The bedsheets & pillow cases, pillows and mattress looked very old, dirty and worn out.
NO GRAB BARS OR HANDRAILS
11) There were no grab bars or no handrails in the bathroom and shower room.
12) Very dangerous for families with children and elderly.
13) The shower head in the toilet was not aligned straight. Hence, when showering, the water was splashed all over the toilet but not on me.
14) So I had to hold the shower head to have a good shower twice a day.
15) Toilet lights were flickering and had a buzzing sound.

17) The buffet breakfast was a total disaster.
18) The menu for buffet breakfast served daily was almost the same.
- The various noodles served during the week were very oily and salty.
- The nasi lemak was a complete wash off. Poor quality rice. No taste of coconut at all.
- The sambal tumis was tasteless. There was no taste of lemongrass, tamarind or prawn paste at all.
- The fried ikan billis was so hard. Food lovers will definitely know the difference between crispy and hard. Sunway Georgetown served hard ikan billis!
- Fried Samosas and popiahs were soggy and not crispy at all.
- Nuggets were hard like stone.
- Coffee was totally diluted.
The only saving grace for breakfast were the

- Apple Juice
19) The cook does not know how to make a hard boiled egg or a half boiled egg.
20) The cook was NOT wearing a mask.
21) Does the F&B Manager in Sunway Hotel do a quality control check in the morning by eating the breakfast served to paying guests?
22) Penang is well known for her Local Cuisine and A Food Paradise.
23) Please employ the right local people to cook Penang local food in Sunway Georgetown.
24) Totally the breakfast for the 6 days was a HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT!
CHANGE TO ANOTHER HOTEL
25) We did not change to another hotel as my husband and I were elderly. Too much of inconvenience for us. Besides, we had paid the full amount to our Travel Agent in Singapore.

Clean room with complete amenities. Location is near to bus stops with easy access to most shopping centres and city centre. There is a night food street just below the hotel. Staff is also helpful and courteous.

Great location next to hawker centre and stalls. Bell desk and housekeeping staff are nice and helpful.
Rooms are older and dirtier than in pictures.
Overpriced for the facilities (or lack of)
One coffee shop with measly meal options and NO room svc. MCO long over, they should have adapted by now.
Why is it a 4* property if basic criteria are not met??
No convenient charging points near the bed.
Lamp on head board itself has sharp edges..poor engineering design / location so sleep carefully!
Front desk staff lack basic knowledge and awareness of the area/city surroundings. They had no idea about night markets, flea markets etc. Worst part was, upon our check out, we asked the receptionist whether to take the ferry from Swettenham pier (to Butterworth) and he confidently said Chew Jetty... we ordered a grab and the driver told us that we were misinformed... the ferry was from Swettenham.

Sunway hotel Georgetown located in the city Center. The hotel location is easy to find Penang foods and shopping. There is night hawkers food Center just beside the hotel and open from 5.00pm to 11.00pm. It is about 5 minutes walk to the famous Chinese Dim Sun.
My Deluxe room at 9th floor is clean and the air-cond is cold. The room size is just nice for 2 persons to stay. The hotel Wi-Fi is average. Bed and pillows is comfortable. The TV look smaller and most of the hotel is using 55” LED in the room. The TV channels had limited channels. The water pressure in the bathroom is not strong for shower. The hotel provide free parking for their hotel guest.
I will stay in this hotel again if I come to Penang for next trip. I also will recommend this hotel to my family members and my friends for their Penang trip.

My family made a trip to Penang from 23 to 25 March 2023. We booked 1 Family Room + 1 Deluxe Room in Sunway Hotel Georgetown. The check-in process was smooth.
However, we were very disappointed with the beds in the Family Room. The bed stinks of urine smell and had patches on both the bedsheets. We were so tired but couldn't get to sleep due to the stinky urine smell.
We had to call the Maintenance at 11.10pm. They came in at about 11.30pm to change the bedsheets and pillow cases for 1 Kingsize bed and 1 single bed.
The young man went in & out of our rooms 3 to 4 times to get cleaner bedsheets for our rooms. Even the new clean sheets had a damp smell to it. He then used a sanitizer/freshener to spray the carpets and corners of the room. It was all completed at around 12.30 midnight.
