Review of Le Dream Boutique Hotel

This was my second time staying here (I stayed here 2 years ago). As others have said, the best part is the rooftop bar, the free drinks/ice cream and the staff there. They advertise movies but I didn't see any (I was expecting some kind of outdoor screen but all they had was a TV that didn't seem to be showing the advertised movie).

I stayed just after CNY so it was fairly quiet in the hotel, only a few tables occupied in the restaurant each morning. Most of the staff seem to be Indian now and quite a few customers too. They could do with some Smile lessons.

Lady at reception, Rita, was very good. She saw I was on my own and offered some advice and where to go/what to see. I appreciated that.

Breakfast has enough variety for a few days and the freshly cooked omlettes were good.

Room was big enough, the bed was comfortable and wifi was very good. Shower was excellent.

Location perfect. I recommend it for a couple of nights stay.More

Very satisfied

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the center of George Town and we had a welcome drink and some ice cream in the terrace of the hotel.
The room are quite comfortable even though not luxurious and the breakfast is very good.
The service was very friendly.

Enjoyable stay

I had a spacious room with all amenities one would need (safety box, fridge, cable tv, bathrobe, slippers, umbrellas, iron and ironing board on top of the usual bathroom products). The bed was comfortable and my 2nd floor room quiet. Front desk service was efficient and friendly. At the roof top Asman and his son Adam were super wonderful service minded bartenders taking such good care of you. I enjoyed the relaxing moments there sipping the wine, unwinding after exploring Penang's attractions. The central location is also very good, even if the surrounding area of the hotel not so appealing, short walk to the heritage area. The tourist information center arranges free (tip based) heritage walks on certain days of the week. A very good informative option to spend a couple of hours with a professional guide. Warmly recommended both the hotel and the walk.

Fantastic hotel experience

The hotel is very central and is good value for money. The manager and the supervisor were extremely friendly and helpful. We have been telling many friends in Singapore to stay at this hotel when they visit Penang.

Love this hotel!

We love this hotel. The staff at this hotel made our trip very enjoyable and always greeted You with a smile from all the front line reception staff to Rita the manager and Asman who works on the rooftop.

The hotel is also in a very convenient location and is modern, artsy and very clean. I would suggest paying extra for the breakfast as the food is very good from eggs, Chinese dim sum, pancakes to roti.

You also get free pop in your fridge and two free drinks (wine or juice) as well as ice cream at the rooftop area. It’s a nice relaxing spot after a long day. They also offer daily movies as well with free popcorn.

If you plan to go to Penang definitely book this hotel you will not regret it.

Room tip: If you have big check in luggages, make sure choose a bigger room.
