Small hotel with ony 8 very large rooms and correspondingly large bathrooms. Well thought out design throughout. Everything worked. Wifi was a bit slow but if you're on a vacation, this should be a minor inconvenience. The informal cafe served an adequate breakfast which equipped you well for a day's touring of he nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown. Easy access to the famous street food stalls dotted about town. Will stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

It's a semi buffet style. Was good but it was very expensive.

The foods are okay but no special uniqueness. The desserts are good for some extensive exploration but the served meals are not special at all.

However, this place is worthwhile for its location and atmosphere. There are normal dining area and fine dining areas. The fine dining seems quite special from its menu. Will try the fine dining next time.

Booked this hotel via SPG as it was one of only two SPG hotels in Penang. What a find! Absolutely charming boutique hotel with only 8 rooms. A renovated colonial mansion with a marvelous contemporary interior. Wonderfully designed with great attention to details. Two very good restaurants as well; had one of my best meals ever in the Dining Room. Lighter meals in the Living Room were wonderful as well, including the breakfast. Trip purpose was to see Georgetown, but I hardly left the hotel it was so welcoming. Wonderful and helpful staff, including Tini (Reception), Tan (Waiter), Johnson (Chef) and Hester (GM). Others were generally personable as well.

Room Tip: Check photos of each room as they are all different.

A good independent boutique hotel in a built up part of Penang.

It was a slightly quirky place, as these types places tend to be in Malaysia but they were obviously trying hard to capture the spirit of a top boutique hotel on the international standard.

The service was good although lacking the 'full service' you get from a top grade chain hotel. As a result, it didn't feel as slick and there was a more laid back approach than the hands-on service you'd get at a 5 star hotel.

The rooms were good, with a free minibar (non-alcoholic) and nice decor/design elements. Probably just starting to look a bit dated in terms of maintenance, as is common in Malaysia outside of the very top chains.

Probably a negative was the lack of space. This is a small hotel, with hardly any communal space outside of the main features. I thought the bar would be good for a friends gathering but it's a long way to get them to go for me!

Hard to get about on foot. You need a car really, as the location is nowhere in particular.

Overall, the experience is quite good but the time is taken too long to finish all the courses. However, I can said that the food is tasty where we can feel the chef is putting much effort on every dish, but, some dishes we can feel that is quite locally made and maybe not that worth what we paid for. But, it was overall a great experience for me and my bf to have a great b'day dinner place. We will come again!
