Description: Kebaya is the diningroom of the Seven Terraces and is open to hotel guests and the public.Open daily, 7pm till 10pm.Christopher Ong has worked with the hotel’s chefs to create a menu of classic Indo and Straits Chinese Nyonya dishes. They have refined these using French cooking techniques and innovative produce to deliver surprising new twists on this already fascinating cuisine. The effect is simple, delicious full of flavour and dazzling.A four course degustation menu of entrée, main course, vegetables and dessert is served in Chinese style to allow guests to share the dishes. The Baba Bar is open daily from 2pm onwards, with live piano music in a very intimate setting.

The Nyonya style food here was sublime - everything was flavourful. Some would not like the set menu style of things (rm120 per person, a dish from 4 separate categories listed) but I found it a fantastic way to taste most of the menu as we shared every dish as a family of 4 (each having ordered a different dish)

However, the main prawn dish was delicious but stingy on the prawns as only 4 small prawns came in that bowl of soup. Other than that, we really enjoyed the starters - betel nut, otak-otak and prawns. The pandan creme brulee was also really good. The service was also impeccable as they were very attentive.

A definite must-visit for some tasty Nyonya food.

A Friend highly recommended the restaurant just as I was leaving for Penang for a short break. Seeing we had no firm plans, decided to try it on our first night in Penang. The restaurant is part of the Seven Terraces, a heritage hotel group of 7 properties.

The decor is distinctly Peranakan but the cuisine is surprising modern. The menu is a 4 course meal at RM120+ person. We are to select one item from appetisers, main course, green and desserts. As there were 4 of us, we each chose something different from each of the category and so ended up with a wide selection covering almost the whole menu. It was absolutely delicious! We love the Miang Kham of Salmon Roe for the appetiser. It's a betel nut leaf on which were placed with toasted coconut, shrimps, lime, cashew and salmon roe. Put the whole thing into your mouth and chew - it's a burst of flavour that is so surprisingly pleasing!

The other dishes in the main and greens were delicious too. All with a modern twist. Love the Tang Yuen - which I didn't choose but was recommended by the service staff. It's glutinous rice ball served with a warm coconut broth with slices of fresh coconut flesh - heavenly.

Although at RM120+, it is rather costly, but the quality of the food and the beauty of the restaurant made it a worthy holiday treat!

Delicious, creative, accessible food. Service leaves much to be desired... Friendly but not aligned with the quality of food. They tried to charge us for two glasses of champagne totaling 100 USD, so be sure to check your bull. Recommend: pork bun appetizer, duck and beef mains, crème brûlée and panna cotta desserts.

So glad we ate here on one of our 2 nights in Penang. Set Menu consists of appetiser, main course, greens and dessert for approx £25 each which is expensive for this part of the world, but the food was unbelievably good. Lots of choice for each of the courses and they recommend that you get different courses so you can share - great idea as everything was so delicious. Wonderful service from our two Sri Lankan waiters (lots of chat about cricket!), perfect ambience and surroundings to die for. Shared a bottle of the house red which was lovely. Hard to find but you must must find it if you fancy a luxury meal with fresh produce and subtle flavourings in wonderful surroundings.

We had a delightful meal last night.
Sheila and Denish were very helpful.
Sheila gave us a tour of the hotel's facilities which was much appreciated.
Hope to one day stay in the one of 14 suites.
